This is the anniversary of the death of Randy Rhoads, the renowned guitarist who worked with Ozzy Osbourne.

On this day in 1982, this awesome musician was involved in an mid-air accident and was killed instantly.

Also Rachel Youngblood and Andy Aycock were fatalities in this disaster.

A tragic loss, so I want to dedicate this thread to the memory of these people, and especially Rhoads, who was a fine musician.

Mid-air? The plane buzzed too close to the bus that Randy was sleeping on and hit it. Great guitarist, greater loss.

An absolute legend. He basically pioneered everything that Eddie Van Halen got credit for.

Where would he be now I wonder? Love Randy Rhoads, Ozzy has not been near his form since his(Randy's) death.

I remember the solo 'Laughing gas' written and perfomed by RR,while with the group Quiet Riot. Simply amazing.

R.I.P. Randy
