My current mouthwash is Listerine Cool Mint.
I find my teeth whiter and my gums are healthier when I use this product as directed. The 1.5 litre plastic bottle cost me C$6.49. Before I use the mouthwash I floss between my teeth, and after I brush my teeth with a battery tooth brush.
Most western countries already have fluoride added to the water, so don't waste your money on it.
When I put the mouthwash in my mouth I swish it back and forth a few times, and then I tip my head back and gargle. I never swallow it because it contains alcohol, and I don't want to get drunk on mouthwash, like the street people do.
I have tried the generic varieties on sale next to the Listerine. They do the same job, but I find Listerine to have a more pleasant taste. The generic mouth washes taste bad enough that it is hard to keep them in my mouth for 30 seconds.
