It's always hard to tell without a side view.*

That said, I actually like what I can see of it. If it looks good from the side, then I say just smooth out the front slope & leave the rest alone.

Spoiler :
A straight side view would make it easier to see.
Hard to tell without a straight side shot ...
But I'd have to see a side shot to know if it looked right.
I can't decide between the two without a straight on side view.
Just to confirm it would you post a side shot ...
Next time you post screenies could you include a sraight on side shot?
I'd like to see a shot straight on from the side to get a better look at the flow of the curves.
;)

What? Quoting? That's cheating!!

I have to solve that spiky thing in the middle yet.

As you wish. If you remember anything else, say so -whenever you get back- otherwise i'm sending you the file as soon as you ask :)

Do you still want the double curve or do you want me to fuse them together?

Little spike done away with:

Smoothing to come sometime tomorrow if possible.

Man, it is really coming along nicely! Looks very good!
Thanks, tom2050. The thread has been a dialogue for so long it's good to know someone else is following it. Hopefully once we get the model finished & textured someone will be willing to work on animating it. Whether or not they want to do the work themselves, suggestions from anyone experienced in animating this kind of unit about what we can best do to make it effectively usable would be greatly appreciated.

Allow me to focus on a semeion :)

Dialogue is not made up of dyo (greek word for 'two') and logos (greek word for reason or speach) but of dia (it means across, as in diameter) and logos. Thus it is a discussion between any number of people, and thus it is still a dialogue with three. ;)

1. Thanks for pointing out the use of an inappropriate signifier. :hatsoff:
2. Since you clearly understood the intended signified I believe I achieved my communicative goal without resorting to the use of the generally unfamiliar "duologue". ;)
3. As a clever sign-maker you ought to know that color is as significant as any other arbitrary symbol system. Editing other people's posts without indicating that it is no longer an accurate quotation has sometimes resulted in warnings/infractions. :p
4. Would you be interested in joining the discourse on the ostensible subject of this thread? :coffee:

I am following this thread, for some time now :)

I do not have anything to contribute though, other than that the model looks very nice. Probably such detail is not needed, unless the civilopedia pic is really artistic.

I'm glad that another one of the creative contributors here appreciates Takhisis' hard work. Thank you.

I'm not sure which part you notice is too detailed. The curving top? My intention is to have a line of civ-color as a decorative border. Will that be enough to make the curve stand-out?

I am not familiar with how units look, but i suspect it would indeed show. But it would show even if you had a coarse-looking rock-like primitive extending from one edge of the curve to the other.

But for the civilipedia pic this will look a lot better obviously :)

The person for some reason, to me, looks too small compared with the ratha. Could you maybe make him a little bit bigger?

Hmm... a civ-coloured stripe? :dunno: Where would you have it?
I take it that the flag, too, will be civ-coloured.

SO MANY PEOPLE! SOMEONE OPEN A WINDOW, I'M SUFFOCATING!

But for the civilipedia pic this will look a lot better obviously
Allow me to focus on a semeion :p... it's civilopedia, you know... or you don't.

There is one exception. When 3 people from Switzerland are discussing, it's a catalogue.
