RBD9 SG - Five Russian Cities

... and feast time for Jester! I've come up in about 5 games all of a sudden! Will I ever be relieved in a couple weeks, when all this school stuff winds down, and I can concentrate on what matters: Succession games!

:p

But I've got it, and this game goes pretty fast.

Heya, Jester, you got some results yet? Post em quick or lose your chance! If I don't hear from you by tonight, I'm taking over...

And here I thought I wouldn't get another turn. :p

EDIT: Ok, got it, as per Jester's post below.

... just as I was finally done all the crap I had to do, and settle down to do this game, my brother informs me that he's left my Civ 3 cd in limbo. I can't even open the game until monday.

Sorry fer the delay, I'm going to be WAY past the deadline before I can play ANY civ 3 at all. This applies to any game I'm in, if I forget to pass on them in their threads, which I'm doing now.

1800 (0): Building a couple nuke plants, Laser due in 12 turns @ 80%, ok. Treasury's at just over 1000 gold, losing 20 per turn.

1802-1808 (1-4): We finish a pair of nuke plants, clean up 3 pollutions in one turn, build a spare worker in Charistroika to get us out of starvation mode, England and the Aztecs make peace, Xerxes founds Ergili in the neutral zone, yadda yadda.

1810 (5): We up science to 100% now that we're close enough to being able to finish it that we can afford the drain on our treasury. We dial up Xerxes and sell him Superconductor to partially offset our Laser research spending. Laser due in 5.

1812 (6): Laser due in 4, we start an ICBM in Zedropolis, due in 5.

1814 (7): India cancels our Ivory for 9gpt deal. Fine with me, we don't need that Ivory anyway!

1816 (8): Time to research Laser drops to 1 turn; Ghandi must have just finished researching it. We buy it off him for 340 gold (miser), leaving us with just under 200 gold left. Coolness! We drop science to 0, as that's the last tech we'll ever need. I start a lone scientist in Tamaringrad just on principle. Income goes from -150 per turn to +350 per turn. :) Zedropolis swaps to Laser part, losing a bunch of shields in the process, even with just 2 turns prebuilding. India still has just 6 parts built, and we're about to complete our last one.

Good game, all!

EDIT: Fixed link.

[party] [party] [party]

After something of a struggle in the early years, that was a really satisfying victory.

Optional bonus: we can use our one ICBM to nuke Persepolis before launch :)

Good stuff. I can't believe we made it past the X-man...

Well, if we ever do another 5cc, the trick is going to be playing on a larger map, so that the difference between us and them is magnified.

But that's for next time.

Good playing, everyone! These RBD gamed do seem to keep being pulled out of the fire, and that's skill, for the most part.
