Two things
1) Outpost was a coaster IMO and was even vote so by some of the mags. O congratulate you if you enjoyed it. Now Outpost2 was not bad.
2) I am not sure what a high end machine is any more as I have not bought one since the first 3.06GH came out.
I can tell you that I get most of them to work on it using XP PRO. If you are having issues try DosBox. It over came the the one that was messing up, Ascendancy.
Open a thread on Moo if it is failing and lets see if we can get you up and running. The biggest problem most have is their motherboard does not support EMS emulation.
That requires something like DosBox. Try :
