Turn 0: Wow it's been a long time since I've seen this game. Recent posts haven't had a lot of strategy discussion, so I'm hoping to just make some more military units and keep attacking Mao.
Turn 1:
Some pilaging action from Mansa, hope I have enough troops to knock them out before too much damage is done.
That works. I begin moving troops up towards the border.
Turn 2: I time my interturn wait - 20 seconds! I've never had a game take this long between turns. I also notice we have 0% research rate. I'm not sure why - rifle to infantry upgrades is my strong guess, so I'll try to do a few of those. Mao moves a nice friendly stack down towards our rifle/cannon stack.
I notice this AFTER I bombard Mao's city. I don't know the right play - evacuate what I can, or fortify and hope to take some of Mao's troops with me? I decide to keep the rifles where they are.
Turn 3: This is the outcome:
We loose only one Rifle, but the city is now too strong to attack:
I pull back to upgrade and reinforce. Also, Alex offers this trade.
I decline.
Turn 7: Take a Mansa city
Turn 10: Make this trade with Khan.
I've tried to cancel all the movement orders, but with so many troops, some may have slipped throuh the cracks.
