I found this kind of interesting (forgive me if it's already been posted). I hit re-base, then put my mouse on a city and started to scroll down (I used the ball on my mouse inbetween the left and right buttons). The re-base stayed. I accidentally clicked the mouse, and ended up in the ocean! After testing a bit, I realized that you could go anywhere on the map as long as you scroll (use the arrow keys to move horizontally). Anyone else have this happen? And should this be banned in things like GOTM, since you could put a huge force of air units on another island/continent easily? After a bit more testing, I noticed it even worked for airlifting units. So you could create a whole invasion quite easily (airlift a worker and perhaps your planes somewhere, then build an airfield and airlift your army. This works with paratroopers, too). I worked on this a bit more, and you can also use it with bombard, allowing artillery to shoot to the other side of the world! The possibilities are just about endless (some humorous, as demonstrated by the image below). Here's a screenshot of something that looks funny, made possible by this bug:

I was going to say you can shoot anywhere on the world too, then I read your whole post.

This sort of thing would be good to airlift artillerty and workers/settlers if you don't happen to agree with the way the rules on them are written.

No, that thread deals with a different thing. This is news for me! I just tried it, and it works.. Even with the 1.22f patch.

I have done this several times on the TETukerhan map because the Aztec cities took too long to hunt down without it, and yet it still took me 300 hours to beat it.

Never tried it, but that and the bombardment have been reported. I thought the shooting had been fixed once, but I could be confused.

Bleeaahh, it works! I landed an entire invasion force of tanks this way on Spain's little island, took them over without building a single transport. Wow, this will make my games so much easier! Now I won't have to build Paratroopers, or Transports, or Helicopters at all! I'll save so much money on unit support! I'll be invincible! Yaayyyy!

Oh, God.... :(

There are problems with this. Once I airlifted my gurilla into an enemy city, but then I attacked it with a cavalry, and my gurilla started to fight my cavalry. That was strange.

I guess everyone agrees that this glitch should not be allowed in GOTM/HOF right? At least I consider it an exploit I wouldn't use in a game, unless I wanted to make fun of the game mechanics.

Once you know something like this exists, it's very tempting to use it, even if you know you shouldn't. It IS a substantial exploit. For pure play though, it should be avoided. BTW, I tried super long range bombard with artillery also, that does not work. Though you can use the bombard button/ arrow scroll trick to put the bombard cursor on stuff a long ways away, when you click on the target, nothing happens.

Actually this does work in version 1.22f for bombardment:

1. select an artillery unit,
2. press B,
3. hover the mouse cursor above a target within range,
4. hold your mouse still (don't even move it a pixel),
5. move with the arrow keys to target another target within range,
6. move with the arrow keys to any target you like.

Step 5 seems to be necessary to succeed at this. It's also a little hard to do, if you move the mouse while clicking the artillery unit will show a bombard animation but not actually bombard anything.

As you can see in the attached image the artillery on the top left bombards a tile in the lower right corner well without it's range.
