Ok what I mean buy this is simple.

the game starts at 4000BCE, we know this.

So in 4000BCE you had Egypt, Babylon, Japan, China and Korean for actual civilizations that where starting to emerge or had emerged. Now the greeks for instance came into the picture around 1600BCE, Romans around 900BCE, Persia around 1100BCE.

Now not to go into vast historical information here. But instead of everyone starting at 4000BCE lets make it more realstic. The Greeks up untill a certain point where nomadic and barbarians as we know, though little about Myceanan culture is known today. So lets say around 1600BCE a barbarian village learns farming and government forms there in a form that is recognizable as Civilization. So if you play the greeks you start in 1600BCE. Now the Persian Empire came about after Babylon lost its power, and its cities revolted and one of these Cities would later become the PErson capital and center of the there world. So a revolt as historiclly happened and a City of Babylon breaks away, though to fit it properly into a game its just one city, and Babylon doesnt loose the rest for games sake. Those are the persians which really did become the Persians. Now they start with Babylon technology ect. Same for the US, in 1776 in the game year there is a revolt at a Brittish colony and the US emerges from it. Now the revolters can be quashed and lets say here Egypt conqured Babylon before 1100BCE, persia wouldnt exist, same for the US. Now of course if you choose a Civ that didnt start in 4000BCE you start at the event time that it did start, and likly in war with your mother civilization. But say its 1776 the technology the game would generate for the other civs would be equivilant to the real technology of the time so if you choose Greece you start with spears and bronze working ect, if your the US you have gun powder ect. I think it would add a cetain detail of realism and appeal to the game.
