Reason I will buy Civ 7..

I can see that, but then happiness isn't just a passive yeild that you just need to keep it positive to not get disadvantages (iirc, revolting aside, negative happiness in a settlement reduces its yields) but actually something you accumulate and then expend on the celebrations. So the amount you get will depend on how balanced are the amount needs for each celebration. Having cities over the cap main trade off isn't getting discontent cities, but instead less celebrations. And celebrations aren't just a temporary bonus, but even an additional card slot for each new celebration you get.

Thanks. I guess my mind is thinking of happiness as a passive yield that you need to keep positive. That is why the large happiness looks weird to me. But you are correct. I need to change my thinking. I need to think of happiness more like a bucket that you fill since like you said, it determines how often you get celebrations.

My biggest problem with 6 was the pacing was all wrong to me. I tried various speeds and the game either flew WAY too fast or WAY too slow. High costs and cost scaling just seemed boring instead of a feeling of investment. But speeding up time just made the tech tree flash by. I never could get a good pace I liked, but I settled on epic.

I also ended up absolutely hating Eurekas and districts were just a disappointment to me. Eurekas (and Inspiration) could heavily weight someone's advancement and could easily snowball someone forward. I wish I could mod them out. District were the same way. I do like what "city lights" mod added. I also think (hope) Civ 7 solved my issue with districts. They have also removed Eurekas.
