I thought about him. :D He would be perfect, but I didn't want to have to edit out things when I showed the video in class. :( I go to a private Christian school and I didn't want anyone to aks me what "smeg" meant. :p Also, I was afraid the class might not share my love for Red Dwarf.
I thought Mr. Brittas from the Brittas Empire would work well, too.

I think you are on to something there:) Maybe the episode where he introduces his boardgame that shows how life isn't always fair.

MCdread:
I started reading Voltaire's "Candide" this morning. ...
Wow! I was not expecting to see that in a Civ forum. :goodjob: Quite a book. Voltaire is an interesting writer....

Stupid PBS. I was planning on seeing if there was a good Fawlty Towers episode on tonight to see if I wanted to use it. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Stupid PBS has to have it's pledge drive TONIGHT OF ALL NIGHTS. I don't care about your stupid Soul Spectacular, I want my British comedies.

But all is not lost. I looked at the guide and there will be an episode of the Brittas Empire on late tonight. I can tape it and watch it tomorrow. :nya:

I was *hoping* that I could get "The Kipper and the Corpse" episode of Fawlty Towers, :D but the Brittas Empire would do too.

Here in Seattle, we have 2 PBS stations! They never have the same thing on, so there is a choice.

Also, the King County Library System here has most British comedy on tape for checkout. Not all tapes are available at one branch, though.... they are spread out, so it can take a day or two for a transfer. Possibly the public library near you has it too?

We have two PBS stations too, but there is like a "good" one and then there's channel 2. :p The only British comedy they show is Ballykissangel. :D

I think I'll check the library on Monday. :yeah: I never thought about that before. Thanks! :goodjob:

Most of our branches are open from 1 pm to 9 pm on Sundays, plus there is an online database & search & reservation system. However, you have to have a library card to actually use the online system. But with it, you can have mateirals transferred from any KCLS library for pickup. If the KCLS does not have it, they will go to other libraries in the state, and if necessary even to other libraries in the nation, like NYC or DC. Those transfers can take a while, however. Sometimes over a month. :)
