It's been some time since I've discovered a game that I really liked. I mean, really really liked. Sure, I've played lot's of ok games that quickly began to bore me. So I would like if you could recommend some games that I might like.

Over the years, I have enjoyed these games in particular:

- CIV II and III
- Total War series
- Starcraft
- Red alert
- Warcraft
- Rainbow six
- Cossacks (The old ones)

Uhm... Civ IV?

I sometimes play Battlefield 1942 (which also has some great experience-enhancing mods), but from your shortlist I can't really tell if that's your cup-o-tea.

Mount&Blade is one of the best games I have ever played, I also highly recommend Dwarf Fortress and Europa Universailles II or III, Hearts of Iron II or the other games by Paradox Interactive.

Uhm... Civ IV?
He said he liked Civ3 ;).

You probably tried these, but what about AoE2-3 ? Or C&C3 maybe ? Or Heroes 3/5 ?
Did you like Warcraft3 - compared to 2 ?

Have you already tried Galactic Civ 2? Its worth a look if not.
Maybe Silent Hunter? (That one is kind of complicated... I have it but haven't figured it out much yet.)

Trying to stick to your theme, I am not a big RTS fan personally and it seems you have the good stuff already listed. :)

If you don't mind fantasy Age of Wonders is a good title to look into. It's turn based. Or wait for whatever it is stardock is working on currently. They currently have a RTS and a TBS in production that are both fantasy based.

EDIT: I want to check out Sins of a Solar Empire. I havent heard anything bad about SoaSE from anyone yet.

I recommend Age of Empires series, and also Sins of a Solar Empire....it's pretty good

if you like RTS games try Supreme Commander

or in the Rainbow Six vein, try Ghost Recon II: Advanced Warfighter (for the Xbox 360)

if you like total war, you might like Endwar.....but the catch is you have to use voice commands.....

Old school: MOO2, MOM, AOE2:TC, Colonization

I heard the new Colonization was pretty good. I have not tried it though. Also, Why not try Civ IV: BTS ?

Get the Godfather, its a really good action game

Based on your games Storealex, :

THQ's Company of Heroes. Just get the gold edition for $30.

GalCiv2

Civ4

X-Com (you seem to like strategy, military, and don't care about graphics).

Empire Earth 1 & 2 are fun til you learn how to beat the AI, though actually #2 is pretty tough when you crank up the AI.

IMHO, Supreme Commander is lame, dumber than C&C.
I've heard that C&C Tiberium and Kane's Wrath together make a decent RTS with a strategic campaign.

My own moments of "this is the game" from the point of booting up would be:
Team Fortress 2,
Rainbow Six 3 series,
Stalker: Shadows of Cher.,
Company of Heroes,
X-Com,
GalCiv2,
Civ4 series
Empire Earth series (though not #3 from the reviews),
Tremulous,
World in Conflict (added, though the campaign is so linear that more than once isn't really fun other than to beat all the sub-objectives; not enough maps in multiplayer in my opinion as well).

DON'T GET SPORE (unless you want an art-house type game).
