A local shop is having a game sale. I can get 50% off Rome: Total War, Battlefield 1942 Warchest (original + 2 expansions) or Medal Of Honour Warchest (ditto on the expansions), or another one that looks quite good - I think its called 'Panzer Attack'.

Anyone played any of these and want to give me some (hopefully objective) feedback?

RTW is fun for a month but gets boring unless you mod it everytime you play (see fansites).

MOHAA is just fun single player and fun MP as well. Sorry to say that a lot of the MOHAA players have gone to play Call of Duty though... Still a good fan base.

Battlefield 1942 is one of the best games I've ever played. Battlefield 1942: Road to Rome (in the expansion) is awesome. Multiplayer for these can take up weeks of your life :]

Or just go out and buy Battlefield 2 ;)

I just brought grandia2, Morrowind and battle of Britain for $16au (around US $10)

I agree with WF's evaluation, though personally, I was more of a MOHAA guy, though I am, as he said, now a CoD gamer :)

If you have a lot of time on your hands and you don't get bored too quickly, then RTW.

Battlefield 1942 is a good choice for multiplayer, in single player it get's boring.

Medal of Honor has better single player when compared to Battlefield but it's multiplayer is not so great.

And i've never heard of Panzer Attack.

Panzer Attack! Holy crap, if that's the same game I'm thinking of, I've been looking for a copy of it for years!

I use to own a World War II game that was *really* good. I always thought it was called World War II: Panzer Claws though. If it is a WWII game, then it's most likely the same one.
