Reducing Barbarian Galleys

3.17 has caused barbarian galleys to spawn increadibly early. I don't find this fun, but that's not really the issue. The main thing is that the AI will just continue to pump workboats to be pillaged if it has coastal seafood in it's start. Check it out in cheatmode sometime, I've seen the AI pump a full dozen workboat worth of hammers to put boats back on some crabs. That's a crazy amount of hammers to squander, and definatly puts any costal start AI at a disadvantage. Plus, as I said it's just not fun when Galleys start popping my borders when I just discovered the wheel and Bronze.

So how to fix this?

I have an idea, I'll try tomarrow if I don't get any feedback. I think I'll just use CivInfos.xml to take away the default galley from barbs, and give it to them as a UU later in the tech tree. Does anyone know will this work? Any other possible fixes that don't involve the SDK?
 
This has also been brought up in the Better AI forum. One easy fix is to give the Barbarians a UU galley, at either strength 1 or with a penalty against other galleys. This gives the human and AI a much better chance at fighting off the barbarian galleys. I'm sure you know how to add such a unit? :)
