Question, suppose you got to the reformation belief policy before you get a religion but almost guaranteed to get a religion cause you are a religious civ, after you found the religion can you get the reformation belief then or is it lost forever?

It's lost. I tried it, accidentally. One time, playing drunk, I hit reformation in culture terms before I actually founded in Faith terms, and after I founded, I was never offered a reformation. The policy clear states its logic: IF you founded a religion, you can add a special belief.

I always got to pick my reformation belief the turn after I founded a religion. Not sure what happened in consentient's game.

Same when I tried this, you pick your belief on the next turn, after you found.

I seem to remember you keep it. If I remember correctly it shows up the turn after you found religion.

If you open Piety, it seems to me that one would often hit your third policy before Founding. So why not wait on Reformation? Opening Piety, why not take Reformation as fifth choice? Piety closer is free GPr -- so that would take care of founding. Pursuing Piety, I would also want the faith discount sooner than later as I am pretty that policy effects the cost of your first GPr if you pick it up early enough. The 25% gold boost from temples as the third or fourth policy should work okay too.

I have to guess that your are picking Reformation ASAP to get the one you want, but can you expect that to work until after founding anyway? So work the tree this way? That said, I am glad to see all the replies to the affirmative!
