Regicide - capture all cities option

At the moment when you play regicide and kill another king all his cities are destroyed. It would more realistic to gain most of the cities close to your territory/army and the rest should become a new smaller independant one. That cannot be done but at least there should be the option to get all his cities rather than seeing them being destroyed.
Imagine a Scipio vs Cesar civil war with other powers nearby. If one kills the other he should get control of the rest of the Empire to unite it again, no ?
