OK, I'm playing Regent level Regicide and I've noticed something about the AI- they always have their king in the capital.
However, I want to capture Entremont (City of 3 Wonders), and that means I have to kill the Celtic king when I enter the city, thus destroying it AND every other Celtic city.
Is there any way I can get their King to leave, thus allowing ,me to capture Entremont? I can easily hunt him down later with my Ancient Cavalry.

I've always wondered why the AI isn't programmed to retreat it's king unit to safety when it looks like a city is about to fall... I realise it would be difficult but its something that would be interesting to see since you would have to trap the King in a city rather tan heading straight for the capital.

Damn, ah well- guess the Celts are gonna have to be... removed then. What a waste of Wonders... last time I play Regicide, methinks.

Regicide is designed to be a shorter multi-player game. the AI is not designed to fully comprehend the game, why, I don't know. Seems like if they put it in it could have been done right.

Next time you want to play with the king units in a single player game, try mass regicide although there is a HUGE exploit there but I will let you figure it out.

If you have a princess unit you can move her near the enemy castle and the king along with some of his units will be enticed out of the castle to her beauty. That's when you take over the capital city. Once your princess has been nabbed, the enemy king will retreat to another city. This trick is not in the manual because its a kinduv secret perk programmed into the game by Firaxis. I found out about it when I read it on a civ cheats, hints site.
