Reinstalling the game

I am Reinstalling the game and puzzled a bit.

do I have to:

install Civ 4 vanilla > install all patches for vanilla > install warlords > install all patches for Warlords > install BTS > install all patches for BTS

OR

can I just do: install Civ4 > warlords > BTS > patch 3.19?

Civ4 > warlords > BTS > patch 3.19 should be enough, sometimes installing a couple of the intermediate paches helps if there are problems.

Have a look at the installing Civ 4 thread on Vista/Win7 that is stickied in this forum. If not vista/W7 you don't need the different directory or run as administrator stuff but there are links to patches, directx etc.

yeah I have W7 and never had problems with my Civ4 until yesterday (you saw my other thread)
