21st for me too. Where do you live? Maybe it's a regional thing.

South America, that's what I thought. I just suspected beause I wasn't logged in the site. I had the app running though, so that must be it.

EDIT: I just realized this is good news to me, means I'll have demo time!

south america gets it before australia?!? we want world wide release date on 21st!!!!

Australia always gets screwed with video games. I'd bet Yathzee only lives there because it helps him rant!

I messaged Yahtzee to see if he's going to review Civ5.

I get the feeling from his Starcraft 2 rant that its deeply unlikley. Oh well.

I hate the fact that America is getting the game before the rest of the world. I could understand it if it ws more stagered for the rest of the globe (lame appeals to logistics could be used then) but as it stands its just rubbish favoritism.

Actually the 23rd in South America is roughly the same time as 24th in Australia. It could be that the international release is the exact same time.

Russia gets it on Sep, 24. But at least they didn't prohibit us at all...

Why would they prohibit it? We aren't in comunist states any more. I heard that there is still tough censor about some things in Russia. But, in every state some things are still censored, aren't they;)?

According to the counter on the steam page, the following unlock-hours can be deduced (might be one hour off):

US / Canada / Mexico: Tuesday 21 September at 18:00 UTC (GMT) = 13:00 EST = 10:00 PST

Rest of the world: Friday 24 September at 0:00 UTC (GMT)

So for e.g. Sidney that'd be Friday 24th around 10:00, Perth around 08:00, Moscow around 03:00 and Western Europe around 01:00 in the morning.

For the folks west of London it means they'd get access on Thursday 23rd, e.g. Rio and Buenos Aires around 21:00 in the evening.

There's a monopoly in game distribution. That's why we still not get officially localized Civ III (it's expected in the near future). This monopolist could ask Steam to not distribute the game.
