what about religion in civIII thepopulatioyou control could follow several kind of religions and the most important could be a problem or an advantage for the government as for a fundamentalism or a persecution (if people refuse to go war .....hig costs for military units ..) Is in civII anything like that?? or how would it fit in the game??

We don't know much about religion. There are some ancient times tech about religion (ceremonial burial, polytheism, monotheism). I don't think there are religion points, like there are culture points. So, I guess temples give culture...

LOL I can just see them trying to set the adv. and disadv. for diffferent religions. Talk about your uproar.

There's only nationality; there's no religion to differentiate your citizens. Nationality shld work well as it is.
And there's no fundamentalism as a form of govt in Civ3. Sad but true. :o

I remember some awesome discussions about this around 18 months / 2 yrs ago when development was just getting underway.
I really like the idea of handling Religion in a fashion similar to how the game currently handles Nationality. Each pop point has a belief. Religions need not correspond to real-world ones, although they could.
Really, the Civ games have never treated this MAJOR aspect of human history with any seriousness.
I do like the way Europa Universalis handled it, but that's more historical as well as more specific.

Hey if you are a big fan of religion issues I suggest you play EU. In civ we have barbarians and that is it – thanks for that. You can call them Taliban, Hamas, (sp), or any other ……. .
