religions

i really like the old ones track, but the gork one is really not what i expect a religous theme would be. the sigmar one is average too. but old ones is definately great :) keep throwing other ideas out for us :D

Ok; do you think the oldones clip should be cut down a bit from 33sec? Here are some looped clips I think would be good for the Wood Elf national/diplo theme - there are different clips for the Ancient/Magic/Discovery/Mechanical Ages, like how in vanilla Civ each nation has different tracks for early, middle and late eras.

:band:

Haha, the singer for Dethklok does sound like an orc. If the background music was just a little more primitive it could work. It's too metal to pass, but it does have a touch of orc in it. Just need to find his audio track only and layer that onto some skull drums. :D

Sigmar is a bit too jubilant. I imagine something less joyful with the sound of the inquisition right around the corner.

The Old Ones track is very fitting, and I much prefer the longer version to the short clip if one or the other were to be looped. Listening to this I easily envision a tribal shaman in Lustria about to ingest some sacred mushrooms to reveal the mysteries of nature. I wonder if there's anything good like this from the Apocalypto soundtrack?

The elves mp3, while I'm not sure I would like to listen to it over and over, seems fitting.

Here's a link to some more music that you may find suitable or as a reference point for a feel you are looking for: DevilWhiskey - The Order of the Lyre

And something that could be sampled from for Brettonia? Here's to the Bard - Title Track

Ok, here are a few more including a custom mix for Eternal Life :egypt:

The national diplo tracks by era appear to be set in CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml , though I don't know the details. (Of course, the religion clips do not loop & would just replace the default Civ sounds, with "long" playing once on founding the Great Shrine and "short" playing on religion spread and building of temples.)

I had actually listened to the halls of elrond on my enya cd and thought 'that would make a good elven gods one', but then i thought, its from lord of the rings though, could pose problems...

the immortality is very unique, and its a good job with the custom mix :), sound fitting with the chanting and incantations. whats everyone else think?

i loled at the simar one. Hall of the mountain king? it remindes me of tom and jerry :p a little too happy, and spirited (and probably well known) for my liking.

keep trying! your comming up with some good stuff so far!

so far i like the old ones, elven gods and immortality :) though if you find anything else you think is fitting for elven gods throw it in here, it would be nice to keep away from potentially well known songs like lord of the rings soundtrack songs :p

That Spirituality one sounds fine; otherwise it's hard to get something to work for Araby/Ind/Cathay.

Here are 2 potential clips for Corruption of Chaos; I like the 2nd one better though maybe too long/chaotic lol. Also a diplo track that would be good to replace the default Sioux one for Skarsnik, Goblin Warlord of the Crooked Moon (I thought the singer actually sounds kind of goblinoid) and a Mongolian one that could be used for the Hung although their current one is fine too.

What do you think of this for a Chaos Dwarven diplo track; it does sound like a hellish slave mine (turn down your volume first :p)

ooo that chaos dwarf one is great!

and the hung one is very fitting, nice find :)

as for the chaos, i like both a lot and its hard to decide, but i think the first would suit best for a religious theme better though.
