I was wondering what we're going to do with the remaining Roman territory once we have conquered it. I propose that we should form a new province, the cities left will make a nice sized one.

I agree. But we'll need to move fast if we want it to be more than just Antium and Pompeii.

We also need to dive into Rome, not fiddle with fringe cities on hills.

I'd rather have a solid continuous border than a jutting peninsula.

  • The swordsmen circled in red will flood the gates of Antium and take the city.
  • The swordsmen circled in green will crush Pompeii once again.
  • The Dark red line indicates the path the swordsmen from Antium will take so they can attack Rome without crossing the river.
  • The dark red line from Pompeii will be in effect if the attack on Rome needs reinforcements.
  • The cyan line will be the swordsmen from Rome to take Pompeii if our green swordsman can't take it.
  • The swordsman circled in blue will fortify and heal. He most likely will not see any action for the rest of the war.

I quickly detailed a plan that will grab us Hispalis ASAP after taking Rome:

The redlined elite will now go to Oda to heal, even though it will take him 6 turns to get to the front.
We will take Antium and then march to Rome, and then make a mad dash for Hispalis and hope the Iriquois don't get it before us. Basically the same as the last map but instead of heading for Ravenna after Rome we head for Hispalis.

Blue: First stage
Red: Second stage
Cyan: Optional if there are left over units from Pompeii's assault.
Dark Red: Dash to hispalis
Gold: Swarming Ravenna.

I would also like a catapult or two to bombard Ravenna when we get there.

I have added two catapults to the build queues in Hai Rando province. They will be ready in 6 turns in Eridu and Gerunshi.

Maybe I'm confused but it doesn't look like we'll have enough troops to attack Pompeii then split up. Unless there are troops in Odawara, that I can't see. Perhaps you could give us some rough numbers of each group.

We should save Ravenna for last. It'll take some time to bring in catapults and we could capture the other Roman cities on flat terrain easier.

After Pompeii I propose we send all of our might against Rome, as it will most likely be heavily defended.

All the troops currently in Odawara are garrisons, but there are some reinforcements deep in our territory, mostly horsemen, who are heading for Odawara and the front.

All right, I see it now. At first I thought you were pretending we had more soldiers that we really do. ;)

But from that city, we can build up, and quickly attack multiple cities from multiple places.

That is if we have another war after this. Some are pushing for a histograph victory here.

In which we would need land... and that means wars.
