Rename this unit?????

One of my tanks won a battle the the game asked me to rename this unit and it became a person and formed an army. What is the reason or significants of this? I just fortified it in my city,because i had no clue what to do with it. Help please.

Sounds like one of those Great Leader things from Civ3. Try that forum. CivII units don't rename.

An army is like a super-unit that you can put units into. You can load up to three of your best units into the army and they'll all function as one megaunit.

Pretty cool that you got your first army. There's a chance of a great leader every time an elite unit wins a battle.
