I'm surprised that among all the bugs reported so far, this one seems to be missing:

since Civ 5 originally released I've experienced (apparently completely random) screen freezes. Buttons instantanteously stop working and exit is only possible via Escape or even only using Control Panel. Since I've had this random freeze on 2 different PCs now, I seriously doubt it is related to my equipment. Also, the freeze appears irrespective of use of mods, so I think that can be ruled out as well as a cause. I've had them occurring as early as after turn 10, but when lucky they only appear after turn 100.

It's utterly annoying and I can't really imagine I'm the only CiV user experiencing this remarkable phenomenon.

I have it all the time.I do have a lot of memory used up on my computer.I think I notice it most if I have not restarted my computer in a long time. For me that means about 8 hours or so.I notice the game runs better after I shutdown my computer or restart it and I never have these issues for the most part. Not saying your not right about the cause.Just saying. To me it means ok I have been on the game long enough ha ha.Not that big of a deal but yes annoying.

When it happens on two of your computers a program that is use by default (of your own choice) may interfere... like a specific anti-virus program... or a specific bitcoin mining program or stuff like seti... or a specific malware. I'm just saying as many people might not be aware what programs like these actually do (they might just think it's some little background tool that comes at no cost (of electricity/processing power - which of course is absolutely not the case^^).

What are the PC specs (CPU, RAM, GPU, HDD)?
Is Windows and all drivers up to date?
Any problems with other non-indie/non ancient games?
