It may be a good game element to be able to choose whether to get "Reports from Allies", which would include the names of cities captured or razed by either side and number of units lost by either side from AI vs AI wars at the turn after they occur. Maybe wonders exchanging owners? It seems like you are kept in the dark by your ally in a war against a common enemy.
On a side note, I wish that being allies would deter future aggression somehow, at least for a period of time. Perhaps war weariness would be greater if going to war against a recent ally?
