Clint Eastwood debated with another member of the wood family today.

Apparently he lost.

Spoiler :

Eastwood was seen on Thursday addressing an empty chair as if it was President Obama

Was this a valiant 'take one for the team' to distract the audience from Ryan's appalling lies and misdirections ?

Or is he displaying the requisite vascular condition for finding Romney convincing?

I loved the part were he said that going to war in Afghanistan was stupid.

May be he was saying something like "I know you fellas were just joking around, but, see, my chair is kinda sensitive and he thought you were laughing at him. So if you could just apologize to him, like I know you're going to..."

(fist full of ducats)

oops, maybe I should watch the video

Eastwood said a lot of things that were against typical GOP policy. That being said, he came off as a bit senile.

My favorite response: 'This is a perfect representation of the campaign: an old white man arguing with an imaginary Barack Obama.'

Holy crap that's exactly whats been going on! Now I'd like to believe Eastwood speech was some performance metaphor.

Does the thread title really have to be that insulting?

Yes, I disagree with Clint politically. Yes, he came across and kind of old and crazy. On the other hand, he's freaking Clint Eastwood. It's impossible to dislike him.

A bit senile? When did he turn into a doddering old fool? Is he trying to run for president as a Reagan clone?

The Republican Party continues to parody itself:

Clint Eastwood. Recognized as a cool badass the world over. That is until he speaks the the RNC and then gets called names for it.

I agree. I'm all for a liberal dogpile when it's justified, but I've got Eastwood's back.

It's an interesting comedy routine that didn't come off right. It is kind of rambling and stumbley and incoherent at times though.

And the best part was him talking about how Afghanistan was a bad idea. I mean, who ordered that?

I think that shows that you can be a conservative and a republican and not necessarily have to agree with everything they do. I dont have a problem with it.

I was more bewildered by this speech than anything else. I thought he was channeling his inner Dali or something.

Made perfect nonsense to me.

Exactly. He should enjoy his retirement instead of ruining his reputation.
