Reputation Bug after taking city

Hi all,

the situation was as follows:

- Hannibal and Elizabeth are my direkt neighbours
- Hannibal and I are at war with Elizabeth
- In round 1 of the war Hannibal takes the city of Coventry with a small force.
- In round 2 Elizabeth retakes Coventry, but only 1 wounded unit survives the fight in the city
- Still in round 2 this seems to be the perfect opportunity to raze Coventry which is placed directly at my border, so i capture that city from Elizabeth and burn it to the ground :-)

And here is the bug: The next round i contact Hannibal for some other reasons and see a reputation penalty of -1 for razing one of HIS cities! To my thinking that penalty should show up in the reputation list of Elizabeth - which it does not - but not Hannibal, or am i wrong? Anyway it was absolutely impossible to raze one of Hannibals cities, since i have never been at war with him.

Unfortunately i was not expecting this situation so i have no "before-after" screenshots.

This penalty appears when you destroy a city that was founded by them and/or has a significant percentage of their culture. Hannibal must have accumulated enough culture in the city between the wars to regard it as Carthaginian. Elizabeth then took it, but he still regards it as one of hi cities (albeit currently in enemy hands). Burning it will therefore annoy him.

It's supposed to work like this to deal with situations like capturing a city that's been captured from your ally. Destroying it will quite justifiably annoy them.

Thanks for that info, i did not know that. Wonder how many hidden features are still to discover for me in this great game ;)
