Hi !

I am searching for help to translate my mod from french to english. The final version will be finished soon in french version (in a month or two), but it can be interesting to translate it for english-speaking players.

The mod include, for exemple:

-5 new buildings (and 35 new unique buildings, and 24 new religious buildings)
-33 new wonders (many are personal creations)
-13 new traits for leaders
-39 new civilizations (Approximately 22 personal creations and 17 wich are partially or completely inspired from members' creations)
-220 new leaders (including a lot of personal creations)
-16 new civics
-4 new projects (and Manhattan Project is modified)
-8 new religions (including shinto religion, nordic religion from firaxis scenarios, and 6 personal creations)
-27 new technologies
-16 new resources (some of them are personal creations)
-15 and more new vote types (UN and Apostolic Palace)
-a lot of new units, promotions, and concepts.

If you understand french, you can see an unfinished presentation website. I can't continue to test the mod/list new things because my graphic card is defective (it will be replaced soon). So, it can be the best moment to turn my attention to translations. I have translate many of texts but my english is approximative and, a lot of times, i make it too quickly. It needs to be completed and verified.

I know that my request is particular, but in this forum many people seems to cooperate, so i try :D.

Bye.

Wow this sounds like a nice mod.

I only know basic French grammer from school in Canada, so i don't think i would be much help.

But may i suggest adding Pilsudski as a leader for Poland and changing the flag of Venezuela to something else?

Most of texts are already translated but need a verification/adjustement.

I completed the presentation website yesterday.

I took French 22 years ago, but I'll take a look at the site to see what looks familiar.

edit - It's mostly Greek to me... :twitch:, but your mod looks incredible.

Ok so, i have compiled all the new/modified texts in some new xml files. The first text file wich need verifications/corrections is Total_War_Diplomacy_Texts.xml (downloadable).

It includes all the new diplomacy texts. It's a big file, but it only needs verifications and corrections in a good english. The new diplomacy texts represent 14% of the mod's total new texts.

This mod looks really nice.

Unfortunately, I can't help much with the translations -- whatever French I have is pretty weak.

Some constructive thoughts:

I see that you have quite a few new Wonders (merveilles). Some of them are not really buildings or monuments, so much as they are ideas -- such as the Code d'Hammurabi, Mythe de l'atlantide, Voyage de Magellan, Art de la guerre de Sun Tzu. Have you considered making these Great Projects instead of Great Wonders? It would fit them a little better, I think. (It's a bit odd to say that a "Myth" was constructed in a certain city....)

It's an excellent question that i always postponed ;) I will convert these wonders to projects today.

EDIT: Okay, so Code of Hammurabi/Travel of Magellan/Art of War (Sun Tzu) are now projects. Myth of Atlantis wonder can't become a project, so i renamed it "Lyceum".

Okay, I'll help you on one thing....it would sound better in English if they were named:

Magellan's Expedition
Sun Tzu's Art of War

--this is how they were phrased in English for earlier versions of Civ...

:)
