REQUEST: Spoiler Tags

I think the problem with that is the background not only changes per style, but also changes alternately for each reply. I imagine the changes you want are not easily implemented...

It would be possible though and someone might have already made a function that allows you to hide text until some clicks on a particular symbol or something.

Well, I've seen them implemented on several other forums which also use VB, so it isn't impossible.

I have seen them fuction on VBB with alternating post backgrounds. I do not know about multiple styles.

Most places I've seen just match the text with the background. One forum I've visited blacks out all the spoiler text (like someone ran a magic marker over the text), and when you mouseover the text, it turns white. Pretty nifty.

Interesting! I guess VBB is pretty clever then - I just assumed they were straight tag code to HTML conversions...

Edit:

...hmm, maybe the background colour is a variable and it just sets it to that... :hmm:

That would be the way I do it. . . but then, I'm not on the VBB development team.

I've seen this done too, but can't remember where. . . it was that matrix explained link to another site tho, I do remember that.

That would be a good idea. However, couldn't we simply ask posters to do something like this:

**SPOILER WARNING**
spoiler here

**END SPOILER**

Seems much more economical to me.

But you might still read it as if you scroll down quickly you could easily miss those warnings...
