Hey folks -

First, let me say, I'm really grateful for all the work you map designers put in. I love pre-designed maps so much more than randomly generated ones, and the stuff you guys come up with is an absolute blast to play with, all around.

The problem I encounter is that quite a few of the most interesting maps are huge-sized. I understand why the huge map size is so compelling - they make for incredible, epic games. Unfortunately, they also bog down mid-game when the number of cities and units becomes more than the computer can handle easily. Because of this, I've ended up shying away from these maps after trying them once or twice, whereas maps like those in Rex's map pack, Kol.7's Ethema scenario, or Sureshot's Armageddon scenarios end up getting played many times over.

Anyway, just something to keep in mind when deciding what sort of maps to make. I know the idea to break up the larger maps into smaller, individual maps was kicked around a bit here - that sounds absolutely wonderful to me, if anyone had plans to do so!

Small maps rule. 4 players so enough for alliances to develop... and you can march armies from your kingdom to the kingdom on the other side in 20 turns, making conquest reasonable.

I have no idea how to do this or even if it is possible at all. If you will explain how to do this - sure, no problem. But these maps won't be "lore-themed" by default, because it will be no use to create starting location in Malakim style, if Svartalfar or Doviello will start at this point.
