the patch is mostly to my liking, but when a research agreement completes, you seem to get all the science in your current project, without overflow. This really sucks. Can anyone confirm?
So are you guys saying that when an RA completes the beakers go toward whatever tech you are currently researching and overflow (if any) goes toward some random tech?
I can confirm overflow.
its obvious RAs were still going to be overpowered based on the changes. They still need balancing. I really don't like been able to get them back to 100% & rather easily at that. Why Increase late game tech costs when i'm just going to get them all for free using RAs?
I played only half a game so far (not enough time, eh), but RAs have been "fixed" by lower lux trade returns, as well as more aggressive AIs (at least in my game).
Exactly what worries me in this discussion. I will have a chance for my own game in few hours, so can't test it.
LostInTime, are You sure, that there was only one tech selected, for research in Your game? Maybe Metallurgy was already marked for research too?
In late game, when you are too far ahead in tech, you also have to pay +200 gold per reasearch agreement (was +100 gold before).

But they haven't been fixed at all, i breezed through the tech tree leaving all AI in the dust in my game, as to Aggressive AI i don't know why your are having problems? normally like 1 neighbor hates me if at all... What settings do you play? & 240gold luxury instead of 300g isn't a fix. If anything i had MORE gold than i did pre patch, with things like the buffed Machu pichu & the 8 free units in freedom for example. I had no problems keeping RAs up with 6-7 other AIs the entire game after Rationalism opener + PT.
Actually i just half finished my scholasticism game & didn't like it, i was slower teching than RA spam & annoyed 3/7 AIs.1 DoW after my 3rd CS ended up killing 2 CS.
