research in MP

Hi!

I just wonder which technologies you go for in the early parts of a MP game. Do you agree with me when I say that the best tech to go for in the beginning is Democracy? (to get the statue of liberty and then change to funda)

Umm, I've never played MP, but your method sounds good...I'd go for Great Wall ASAP, and I'd go for Communism when I got the Statue of liberty

Um..... in the early parts of the game?
In MP the game is usually over before Democracy, even on larger maps.

Monarchy first and if your alone on your island or continent you can go WLT with republic.

For early attack I usually go polyteism.

My multiplayer games are most times not over before democracy...
But the one who gets the statue has won every of our games.

I start by discovering monarchy then republic
and then democracy

Pyramids Great wall Sun Tsu
...I never use fundamentalism
I need money to bribe enemy units&cities
even in the beginning and I want to be protected
from bribing

Yepp,
democracy can be good in MP. You get alot of money and your cities cant be bribed...
But i still think that funda is better.. I mean you can build soooo many units in every city if you want with almost no problems. If your enemy is a democracy and you are a fundamentalism and he buys a city from you, then you just send your mega 1337 army and takes it back...
