Hello all,

I searched for this, but couldn't find a concise answer. I know that if a resource isn't inside your fat cross, then you can't work the tile, but can you still use it?

For example, if I have gold, stone, iron, and horses outside of my fat cross, can I still get the +5 commerce from gold, wonder build time reduction from stone, and the military units from the iron and horses?

If so, do I just have to build roads from my city to that tile? Or do I need roads and the improvment (mine, quarry, etc)?

Thanks,

Rex

Guys, correct me on this, but you will definitely be able to build resource-specific military units if you have the resource connected to the city by road/river, and the improvement necessary on the tile (ie. quarries, mines). However, with things like gold you will get +1 :) but no commerce gains becaus you can't work the tiles. Health modifiers with the likes of rice work in the same fashion. Hopefully that helps you out.

The resources must be within your cultural borders, improved, and provided with a route to your capital. Then you will receive the bennies.

You need both roads (or a river connection) and the improvement.
