Restarting a game with different rules

Hi there hope someone can help.

I'm not a CIV guru, but just play it on my mac every now and then when I'm bored of working. I wondered... is it possible to change the ending scenarios during a game - one game I played I accidently clicked on "Territory" and another I selected "Elimination" which means when I capture a city the whole Civilisation crashes! And the territory one, will stop when I reach a percentage of world owned and not when I destroy everybody.

I'm really into these two games and don't want to start again. Is there a file or a setting I can change to alter when the games ends?

There are a number of setting at the start for victory conditions. You can enable some or all of them. Once the game starts you are stuck with, unless you hack the save and that may not even work.

You would need the seed if you wanted to regenerate the map with different rules.

Welcome to CFC, vanroojdotcom! In addition to what these two have said, you can also try the Play Last World option. That would put you back at the start screen, where you could select the various game rules, with the same map. I think that it will only work if you haven't started a new game, though.
