Have a awesome/humourous game of MoO\MoO2\MoO3 you want to share? Do you want to make a game story easier to find for other members, not only that, but make it a bit faster to locate? Then post your story here!

While I myself can't tell very good stories, I do have a funny one: As the Mrrshan in MOO1{Huge map, Average difficulty, 4 planets owned by me}, I built a MASSIVE fleet: Default Destroyers, 1 large class{Panther, Gatling lasers, nukes}, two different brands of huge{Sabertooth and Lion, Sabertooth more powerful;both have gatling laser and Heavy Laser}, and countless tiny fighters{562, to be exact; all equipped with Ion cannons}. I was so sure that this fleet would carry me to my first game of glory, so I sent them all to attack the nearest enemy world, which belonged to the Bulrati.

The Bulrathi only had one Huge ship there, so I laughed as I sent my entire Armada at their colony, which coincidentally, was 1 parsec away from my HW. I sent my capitol ship, the Sabertooth, against it first, followed by my "countless" fighters, the destroyers{around 113}, 4 Lions, and the Panthers.

That single Huge ship, the Claw, couldn't stand a chance, or so I thought. My entire Fleet was destroyed in that battle.:twitch: The Claw had super defences and a self repair mechanism, not only that, but their missile bases were taking out the only ships that could damage the Claw efficiantly, the tiny ships{first strike took somewhere around 125 HP}. The Tiny ships stuck first, but my giant/huge ships barely scratched it, and don't ask me about the panthers. I attacked the Claw continuously, but never got it below 400.

The Bulrathi fleet got the Sabertoothe first.{dropped my jaw} Eventually, the missiles got the tinys, then the panthers were finished off by the huge ship, and the other ships soon followed suit. I was going to continue that game, but then I noticed a group of 24 claws heading my way.

All my Master of Orion stories are on my website. You can find them here if desired.

Generally speaking, you aren't going to get much of a response by opening a thread and asking others to tell stories there. If someone wants to recount a game, they'll open their own thread to do so. You come off sounding a bit as though you're asking people to entertain you, which I don't think is the intention, but you might want to be careful about how your message comes across. My two cents, in any case. :)

R.B., use some white space in your post. That makes it easier to read. It would be good to state the game and the settings.

I know it is Moo1 as you cannot have 512 ships on one battle screen in MooII and the races are not present in MooIII.

Then if we are to appreciate the battle we need to know what the ships designs are like. Hundreds of tiny and small ship are dog meat going against some designs that you could have on a huge.

OTOH, a huge may be a goner, if it is poorly designed and has obsolete tech. Just saying this many of this size fought such and such, does not convey any idea of the outcome.

The battle sounds interesting and you learned a good lesson. Spy on them, find out the tech and understand what type of weapons are required to damage a given design.

If they have ADR of 30%, you need to do more damage in a round than can be repaired of you are doomed. Don't forget to factor in the the shields and armor in determining the damage and you chances to hit.

Sulla, I have always meant to ask you why the team did not play the Cow level or at least it was not in your report for Normal, Nightmare.

I'm going to assume that you're talking about the Rogue team from Diablo 2 with that last comment. :)

The Secret Cow level is a bonus feature; it's not part of the "real" game, so to speak. We certainly could have done the Cow level, but I don't think there was any interest in doing so. I personally do not consider the Cow level necessary in order to achieve a full clear of the game. And on Hell difficulty, it would have been extraordinarily difficult to complete!

Probably more personal preference than anything else, to be honest. Sirian led the Rogue team, and he never had any interest in running the Cow level.

I figured as much, just wondered. Thanks for the reply. I always got a kick out of the mooing.

I was wondering with so many players, if you would not trigger too many stacks to come your.
