Looks to be something on the motherboard. 2 year old 939 socket. Guess it's already time to move on to AM 2. Not sure when I'll swing it. I won't add this plain vanilla game to my laptop or I'll be switching cd's all the time. I may rebuild using an upgraded mother and buy some new parts. My advice would be to get a replacement. We are looking weeks to longer depending on the fortunes of purse and work. Sorry guys.

Dazz and Ruff, don't you two use a clever way to have a dual install of BtS and Vanilla on the same computer? I don't have BtS, so I wouldn't know.
In any event, if you don't want to try to get your laptop to work with a dual install, we understand and should be able to find a replacement for you.

just sent chasbolt an email with the way I deal with extensive disk swapping.
I will probably bite the bullet and buy an HP something tomorrow. A few days later, hopefully, I'll be playing again.
Took the computer back. Found a MB close to my old one ordered it, 3-5 days plus bought another Vid card. We await delivery.

Any word from Chas yet ?
New motherboard doesn't recognize the old drive. Probably have to reformat and do all from scratch Besides a few other issues, I've had a bad week. Back went out Didn't work, laid on my back until a little yesterday and some today. Just got it together earlier. I don't wish to lose what I have so I'm going to try a few things tomorrow before starting at square 1.
