@Theoden & Rubberjello - I appreciate both of you stepping in to calm things down & I assure you it is not going to turn into a flame war, I do not really see this as being flaming yet perhaps close, but not yet. I am sure this matter will be cleared up as soon as Chrisius explains to me how i was wrong or admits he was wrong. If neither of these things happen there will remain an uncomfortable tension between the two of us as a result of this incident, but this is the last post i will make regarding the incident unless the discussion takes a considerably more peaceful turn. even if the matter is not cleared up i am sure the game can and will continue without allowing personal feelings to affect it.
@ Chrisius - I am just at a total loss regarding your complaint
Here is a summary of the entire episode as I see it going all the way back to the last turn. I will refer to the posts which have been made and the days and times because you specifically asked "did you notice the times on the posts" Before I begin, however, I wish to say nothing I say here is meant in a derogatory manner. Also, I did not refer to your post as a temper tantrum in order to "retain some higher ground" rather I called it what it was in my view, a temper tantrum, just as I referred to my post as what it was "a retaliation" which is basically the same as a temper tantrum. As I see it you had a temper tantrum and I responded with a temper tantrum and neither of us has retained higher ground but rather showed we can stoop low if we desire. I say this not as a means of upsetting you, but rather to point out how I feel about the situation and that I put ourselves on equal footing regarding the outbursts, they were both uncalled for and do not belong on the thread. but anyway, i edited my post again to take out the words "temper tantrum", of course, this has no effect since I keep repeating the phrase.
I would also like you to know I had read each and every post and I have noted the times, but I think that is all irrelevant, so now I will begin my summary:
-on the 21st at 9:24 AM (these times are all of course in my timezone, whatever time it is in your timezone I do not know nor do I really care) Theoden posted he had sent you the turn
-on the 22nd at 1:15 AM, 16 hours later right before i went to bed, IIRC, i posted a "no turn received today"
-a mere 3 hours later you posted you had not received the mail from Theoden, also said you would pm him
-2 hours later Theoden posts he resent the turn to Chrisius
-on the 23rd at 4:26 AM you posted again you had not received the turn and suggested Theoden attach it to the thread and also sent him an email to see if it would go through
**at this point it is annoying that the turn has not got from theoden to you, but i felt the two of you were handling the situation to try to keep the game moving, no real problem there.
-on the 23rd at 11:46 AM Theoden reports he got your email, he emailed again, and he attached the save
**it seems at this point regardless of the mail situation the save has been attached and the game will get moving again
-on the 24th at 11:33 AM you posted that you finally got all those mails and the game has been sent to me
**you did not mention anything about the game being attached, which was your suggestion anyway, nor had it been downloaded
-about 12 hours later at exactly midnight, i posted sent
**after typing my "sent" message I read through all the posts again because I wondered how long the mail thing had caused the game to be delayed. it was then that i noticed the attached thing (you had not mentioned Theoden's attachment nor had it been downloaded as I said earlier) So i thought, 'Well, maybe he did not notice it, after all, sometimes I do not get forum emails about new posts in threads' I figured since we just went through a 4 day delay because of some sort of mail problem i did not want that to happen again so i wanted to make sure you had noticed the attachment so that if a future problem arose hopefully the turn would get attached sooner and downloaded and played sooner. so, originally i had then added to my sent the following, "did you not notice he attached it to his post for you? next time we have a problem could you just use the attached turn instead of waiting?" then, i thought, well that makes it sound like i am blaming him for the dealy, so i backspaced over the second question and changed the first question to what i felt was a rhetorical question aimed to just make sure you had noticed it.
Why did I make this comment?
was it to accuse you of delaying the game? no, i see no complaints or accusations there
I made this comment because it was 24 hours almost since the turn was attached and you played it when getting the email. i thought you might have simply overlooked it and were waiting for the mail thing to work its way out, or whatever. i hoped that if you had not noticed it, my pointing it out would then make you think in the future to check the thread. if you had noticed it, but had got the emails the next time you got online (thus getting the emails and seeing the save at the same time) i figured you would simply say, yes, i noticed it, but i got the emails at the same time i noticed it.
for emphasis i will restate: i made no complaints or accusations, i said nothing wrong or out of the way, certainly nothing to provoke you. it had been 24 hours since the turn was attached and it was certainly possible you had overlooked it. if that was the case, then in the future if this email problem surfaced again, hopefully Theoden would attach the save and you would notice it. The fact that you had noticed the attachment (despite having already played the turn) tells me this is already taken care of.
Now, I do not see or understand your complaint. I have read and reread and reread the post in which you were upset and I still do not understand your complaint. I ask you to explain how I was wrong to point out the save was attached or admit you were wrong and that your comments were not justified as you say they are, I certainly did not want or need a long explanation, just wanted to make sure you were aware Theoden had taken advantage of the option of attaching the turn.
Thank you in advance.
