after serving my stint with MMO's I'm finnaly back to the happy land of turnbased mayham. I lost most of my old disks when I moved so I went ahead and got civ2, amongst others, thinking it was the one where you could control/terraform the hieghts of the game...I know you can do it in Calltopower2 (Ok I think that's the one) but a civ game you could do it too...this was back when smac and simcity2 were all about raising/lowering terrain...can anybody tell me which one it is, or if my memory has just lost an engine and I'm going down?

Civ 2 has a map editor but you can not adjust the land height as in SimCity2. Your settlers can change certain terrains, eg forest to plains.

Tower to micmc, you're losing altitude .... have you lost an engine?

I think you mean Alpha Centauri.... because no Civ game was ever about raising or lowering terrain :)

Yep, you can do it in Alpha Centauri. That was one of the best things about that game, creating land tiles where there were water.
