Revolution

I LOVE this game!

Actually, I was wrong. PDX is already a city, thus our support is increased by 2. Also, there are several towns that will not need aqueducts that will grow to cities in the near future. Unit support costs should definately be made up for by reduced corruption, thus, I truly believe that monarchy is the way to go, unless something miraculous brings peace to our nation. In my opinion, it is truly time for a revolution!

The main thing I would like to avoid is going to Republic & finding ourselves in constant war. OR, going to Monarchy & finding ourselves in constant peace. I don't think I'd like to have to switch twice in the current age. I know it's impossible to predict, but, in my mind, it comes down to 2 alternatives.

1) Monarchy now. Good for development in our current age, before the tech race really starts in the Industrial age, IMHO. It will provide with slightly lower corruption than Desp, no tile penalties, & increased military police. We are also secure in the notion that war is acceptable by the citizens. A revolution now will ensure we don't get behind in technology while in anarchy.

2) Despotism now, Republic later. We seem to want a peaceful scientific civ. Nothing would help that more than a Republic. I feel the switch to it will come eventually anyway. Maybe if we can hold off in despotism longer, we can afford it...

I'd support either. I might lean towards #1 if we think we can support the Anarchy period.

We should definatnly go Monarchy, it is best for our current situation, or we could get peace with evreyone and then go republic.
