RFC: BtS Bug Reports

Not really a bug but the Arabian UHV about the Holy Cities seems to be wrong - I controlled 3 Holy Cities ( Makkah, Urshalim, Athenai ) and failed the objective. Did it mean Holy City Shrines? I only had 1 :p

In every game of Rhye's I've played the game seems to freeze up around 1700-1800 (the globe just keeps spinning and the text says "Waiting for other civilizations") I've waited as long as 20 mins with nothing happening.

Is there a fix for this? Are there some options I should tweak? I've attached a game just a couple of turns before this happens.

i think that's due to a bug of BTS. Once the release of RFC BTS is updated to 203, it will work

The same thing happened to me in my Dutch game. When I hit the year 1510 the "waiting" message would never end. I even tried re-doing the turns prior, and doing things different, but it made no difference.

I played 5 prior Rhye's games with no problem.

When will 203 be coming out?

I can answer some of that.

If your in a pact and you or your ally declares war on a third party it gets cancelled (this includes independents although you can ask for the pact again the turn after and your Ally generally accepts).

If your in a pact and someone declares war on you, your ally then in turn declares war on the aggressor which in turn cancels the pact as your ally has declared war on a third party (the Civ that attacked you, see point 1 above).

If another Civ is at war with someone they cant make a pact with you (Wars with Independents don't count).

If your at war with someone you cant make a pact.

Hope that helps (and makes sense).

Actually all this is summarized by saying that while at war, a Civ can't be in a defensive alliance. As mentioned wars with independents don't count.

On another note, I haven't had a single crash with RFC: BtS (unpatched).

And a minor question: there is a "lake" (water tile sorrounded by land) between Artaxata and Niniveh, middle east, which is considered a sea tile... is there a reason for that ? Also how would I change that in the Worldbuilder ? I haven't found any option to do it.

Not a bug as such but just in case its not been seen in the other Thread Babylon's UHV is impossible at Monarch level with BtS.

Im not saying its really hard and I cant do it I mean its impossible probably because of the tweaked AI.

It may be an idea to review all the UHV's with BtS.

Some lakes in RFC are salt lakes, so they provide only one food per tile. It's on the readme

Had the exact same problem today. I was really enjoying my game as well. So does that mean my only choice is to start again? I'll post my save, hopefully it helps you Rhye.

P.S The Byzantine Empire collapses during this turn, is that just a coincidence or a possible cause?

Strange bug in 1.05 BtS. Playing as Portuguese i settled Lisboa yet while the wines and horses connected to the city, neither resource is showing in my city screen.

Thoughts?

The most strange is the horse and wine is shown in cities other than my capital. Weird.

For those of you having problems with the "Waiting for other civilizations", this is a BTS bug and not limited to RFC. It's only happened to me twice, but I found that I could quit the game, reload my save, and the next time it worked properly.

And one more thing I noticed. If you think your computer is stuck at "Waiting for other civilizations", try to move your mouse and scroll around the map. I've found that if you can't scroll (you usually can't scroll in between turns), it means the machine is actually still processing the turn, whereas if you are able to scroll around, something has messed up and you shouldn't wait for it.

And, since someone mentioned the Byzantines (Romans?) collapsing. It seems the one thing that takes RFC the longest to process (well BTS too, but the RFC map is so much bigger than I usually play) is recalculating all the borders and trade routes whenever borders expand, cities are captured, or boats perform a naval blockade. So an empire collapsing will cause the wait time for that turn to be longer.

I know this is not a bug, but it drives me CRAZY!!! I am playing as Persia. Jerusalem flips to the Arabs, and the city keeps ALL of its culture. I immediately lose all the culture around Babil and start over when determining the culture for each resource square. I know that Turkey has the assimilation UP (which I think is too strong), but it is annoying that I lose all my hard earned culture, and can't invade Arabia without losing half my units to the liberation flip! Looking in cheat mode I KNOW that I am earning more culture in Babil than Jerusalem is, yet Arabian culture is bordering my city directly.

As I said I know it is not a bug.....just a rant.

Bug in version 1.0 of BtS (after being told not to play 1.05)

Playing as Portuguese, my explorers seek gold in Aztec lands. While there, an Inca boat moves North and says hi. I trade with them and acquire open borders. When my Carrack moved south to South American lands 12 turns later, i make contact with the Inca home lands and I get the conqueror event.

As i had made contact already, should I still get the event?

Also, why do the Aztec event get fewer units than the Inca event?

Rhye posted a quick fix for this in another thread have a look down the page.

Sometimes Potugals 2nd UHV triggered for me sometimes it didnt until I used Rhye's fix.

Where can I find the fix?
