I just did the Mayan UHV. On turn 181, at the end of which the 1st UHV is checked, I thought I had failed it, as I still and one turn left to research calendar (and couldn't figure out how to get there any quicker). However, in turn 181, Rome collapsed, and for some reason that dumped a whole heap of beakers into my research, so I had more than enough. Anyway, it awarded me the condition, so after that the rest were easy. So: why did Rome collpasing give me a bunch of beakers?

Cheers, Luke

Sorry, that should have gone to the Q&A thread.

But this one probably counts as a minor bug. The 1st Arabian UHV seems to get checked OK at the end of turn 1300, but the second one doesn't seem to get checked (or at least, reported) until the next turn. I just played a game where I was 1/3 and white in 1300, but having only conquered half of Spain, it should have been 1/3 and grey; it did go grey the next turn however.

Cheers, Luke

This is my first time playing this mod, but this one thing so far has irked me a bit.

Can you please make the text in the historial victories screen wrap? If not perhaps write separate statements for this screen that are shorter and get the main points in the small space. I'm playing as France and the first victory condition is partly missing, but I think the most important part - the date by which I have to get Paris to most cultured city (1700AD) - is missing off the end of the line. I've already failed that condition but never mind that.

Thanks.

So is this to be considered a bug or not? A little bit of polish goes a long way!

Well, I'm not sure if that's a bug, as you can check your conditions for historical victory in Civilopedia.

Hmm perhaps I shouldn't have used the word bug. As in that example, the UHVs might as well not even be mentioned in the victory screen because they can't be read. I know it's only small, and they're in the civilopedia but sometimes small changes are appropriate.

I consider it useful to be able to check your victory conditions in a screen which can be accessed with one button press, as opposed to having to navigate through a few pages of the ciliopedia to find the detail. Then, I find myself having to write the things on paper so I don't forget. If I'm having to write down on paper the victory conditions then IMO something's wrong. It sometimes only takes a few little annoying things to turn someone away from using mods.

I would feel more compelled to play (test) the mod more if I felt my feedback was taken into consideration.

Heyy, don't get mad, man! I was just saying that it's not a bug, as they shouldn't be displayed properly, as the texts are too long. However, I think that they should be displayed properly somehow, maybe if the texts could use two rows instead of one, the problem would be fixed. But, as Rhye is the creator of this mod and I don't know how to create or edit anything in mods, I can't solve the problem.

I'm not mad. It's just that I already know about the civilopedia detail and someone already made the same response from my first post and I'd rather have a response from either Rhye or someone who knows how to change it. Having the text wrap across multiple rows is what I meant by 'wrapping'. The alternative to wrapping the text is to shorten those texts to a more concise form where the key pieces of information (like 1700AD in the first UHV in the picture I posted) actually fit on the one line. This might be preferable to making the text wrap or putting in a clumsy scroll bar.

I have just completed Khmer UHV with Buddhism at 25% spreadrate at 1450ad

was the winning rate reduced from 30% to 25% and the description is wrong, or have i won by a bug?

hi, it's too late now for today's patch. I'll try to do something about it next time

Thanks Ryhe. It's an impressive mod!

About the long texts:
just make a very short statement about each goal, like a slogan ("Indian Conquest"), and place the full length info in a small info textbox that shows either on "mouseover" the slogan or by clicking a "?" button next to it, or both

A curious bug I encountered today - it was in RAND but I don't think it makes a difference -

I was nicely surprised to see that my chinese marines could walk into the vietnamese jungle, when a Khmer Rifleman (I was at war with Khmer) walked through the jungle (there was a road in the plot) and my Marines were kicked out of Khmer borders - without any fight of course -

You might call it the rights to the jungle belonged to the Khmer due to their UP. (Just like how American marines lost to the Vietcong)

Love the dynamic city names which change through history, but I have noticed that the names for Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto are not correct. They instead appear as Toukyou, Oosaka and Kyouto (neither is the correct spelling in English)

I've just finished the 3rd Dutch UHV, having a total of 8 spice resources in the year 1754, yet I still don't get the message about the UHV victory. Is this a bug? Do I need to build plantations on all the spices in my territory? Do I need to wait till 1775?

I think it was changed a few versions ago. Now you don't only need the ressource in the fat cross, but also need them in your capitol screen.

Ah OK thanks.
