RFC Classical World

it was still doing the 1st commit when I had to leave for work. I'll get the link happening when I get home.

here it is. first post updated as well. let me know that its working.

Well, that link works when I click on it. Now I'll try updating to this one.

Edit: well, I downloaded it, but I can't update it. Is it missing the svn folder, or am I just not doing something right?

@srpt can you make "unlocked" version of the maps, like in regular RFC? Maybe SVN only?

edit: Gold next to Tungul is inaccessible due to desert tile.

there are some good common mistake explanations in Absonthered's guide, linked in the first place. it usually has to do with folder names.

you can easily unlock the maps yourself. just change the playableciv tag in WBS. I'm just trying to indicate whats recommended for good AI results.

I just went over all the buildings. balanced the costs. added the tannery and textile factory, both available right away, with production bonuses for animals and plants respectively. didn't remove the regular market but lowered its bonuses (now +20%, 1 merchant), changed the name of the harbor to fishery, the name of the lighthouse to harbor, the name of the drydock to shipyard, effects unchanged, all the corporation buildings require a prereq building in the city + 3 more of another building and have 1 specialist slot and +5% per resource.

gold access at tungul is fixed

I made a list in the 3rd post of which UHVs are known to be working for all the civs up to Parthia. have a look at it and make sure I'm not wrong about any of it.

also forgot to mention workshops are now called brickworks and can only be built on floodplains

played a tocharian game and continued it a bit further to see some early late game

The Sassanids didnt spawn at all ! Is because the Parthians were up and strong by that time ?

Also In my game Vietnam is imba and the Romans, while they conquered nearly all their target territory, suddenly succumbed to the monster-Celts who even conquered the Italian peninsula !

srpt said:
have the Greek kingdoms and Carthage start without archery and add Cretan and other mercenary archers, as well as Balaeric and other slingers.
I've updated the svn (revision 4) and started a game as Bactria (again ! my favourite ;)) but they have 3 archers and the tech. Will you fix it ?

(edit) @srpt : OK :)

@Sitalkas: I have seen strange things like that too. clearly more investigation is needed.

@Cetrix: I thought the Bactrians should start with archery. they start 100 years later and they live in an area where archery was more prevalent.

@ Wessel: I hope you get some free time soon!

everyone take a look at the UHV list in the 3rd post of this thread and let me know if I'm mistaken about any of them. thanks.

I'm going over the early UHVs and tweaking them here and there, changing "in x date" goals to "by" in some places and changing some dates.

Pontus "province counter" UHV2 does not check.

edit: and about Bactrian archers: it's not like Bactria can just go get Cretan mercenary archers, so they indeed need to be self-reliant for archers.

edit 2: what happened to gradually increasing :c5angry: and :yuck: in cities? It's just linear at the moment.

did someone else do an svn commit?

I found the problem with Pontus. I want to find out why my copy is out of date before I commit but you can fix it by changing iCounter to iProvinces in aHelp.append(self.getIcon(iProvinces <= 7) + 'Provinces controlled: ' + str(iCount) + ' / 7') which you'll find at or around line 2267 in victory.py

I found the extra unhappiness and unhealth crippling and not fun. if you had a city with 1 happy face to spare and it grew by 1 it became unhappy. didn't seem right.

Caucasia that would be ( Καυκάσια) according to modern Greek grammar

great to have an expert on board! thanks!

what about Alexandreia on the Indus and on the Oxus?

Oxus and Indus were rivers so according to greek grammar they should be named as : Alexandria Oxou and Alexandria Indou respectively

But , according to this link (which is unfortunately in greek ) http://el.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/&#91...966;ήνιση)#section_1 we can name them as [Alexandria epi Oxou or Alexandria Oxiani or Alexandria ston Oxo] and [Alexandria en Indus or Alexandria epi Indou or Pentapotamia Alexandria ] respectively !

Choose the one that fits you , they are all correct !

Edit: now that I'm thinking about it a bit more, and after searching it a little bit, the 'Caucasia' suffix is too modern and it should be something like "Alexandria en Caucasos" or "Alexandria Caucasou" , names which are also in the link above !
