RFC Classical World

so far the tech and unit building still seem slow. I'd like to get the Diadochi situation tuned first, so go ahead and add units, change the tech rate, whatever. (techrate is in Gamespeedinfos). I've already added 1 more attacking unit per civ since the wars are tame so far.

fixed

about provinces, there are 2 places where a change is needed for various flips to work as intended

Gaul should be divided into Gaul, Aquitania and Septimania, so Septimania flips to the Roman AI, Gaul to the Celts and Franks, and Aquitania to the Visigoths

Andhra should be added so the Pandyans will not flip Amaravati

Carthage's start is rather slow, especially since, having no health ressources at start, all colonies immediately go to size 2 due to health. Can the wheat near Carthage be worked from the start to prevent this? Also an extra Numidian would be nice :) By the time I tried to take Syracuse, it flipped to the Roman spawn...

Edit: Rome is a pushover. No spawn stacks against me (Carthage), they don't settle (they camp their settlers in Rome), and the immense distance between Spain and Italy means they won't intervene there either.

yes Carthage should have a farm on the wheat at the start

you mean the Romans declared war and got no conquerors?

I think something might be up with the settler map so I'll change that

yeah I really like the Bactrians too. they're one of the reasons I made the mod

I'm having issues with mercenaries, I'll revert my changes

Oh, the Romans don't get a stack against Carthage when Carthage (human) declares war? That seems fair. However the Romans are acting quite silly at the moment and so are easy to defeat :) . Some fixes should put it back in order. Also, Rome declared war against Antigonus in 250 BC and got a stack near Ephesos...it's a tad too early for Roman expansionism imo.

Edit: Trying to load up a Byzantine game...it is incredibly slow. It's been 70 turns remaining for the past 10 minutes, and might even be frozen there.

let's focus on the early game for now. Rome is still not using their settlers. I'd like to fix that.

the autoplay does stick on certain turns for quite a while sometimes

in my Bactrian game, the Romans control : Bordaux, Marseille, Italy, Sicily, Greece, Thrace and all the Antigonids land , they seem quite strong

On the opposite the Parthians didnt go to war neither with the Seleucids nor with me, they act "noobish", wandering their units around the map

also, they bactrians were starting after 50 turns of auto play? I thought it was less :/

I like the new map! Much bigger with more resources.

The one thing that prevented me from playing RFCCW extensively in the past was the lack of supercities (size 20+). Not enough food resources in most places; pre-placed cities packed obscenely close together. It seems both of those issues are gone now. :goodjob:

I'm having a lot of crashes and fatal errors... anyone else?

fatal error say is due to bad memory allocation or something

32-Bit versions of Windows are limited in their memory allocation. MAF as they're called are caused on generally big and graphic rich maps. It's basically the downside of playing on a bigger map. The only way to solve this is to upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows. It's still pretty cheap to upgrade to Windows 8 this month I believe.
