RFC Europe: Small bugs/fixes

Some civs may apear 1 turn later.

Known bug. I don't know what is causing it and how to fix it. It appears random, if you reload a savegame it may work OK. The entire autoplay stage is a pretty ugly hack, but there is no other way to do as the game engine wasn't designed for autoplay.

Ok good to know. I feel like there are a lot of implicit parts of the game like that (example: you can't have religion if you have the wrong civic, different from vanilla civ4).
Not really. If you pick "Free Religion" in BtS you still cannot have a state religion. In the same way here, if you are using Paganism then you cannot have Catholicism as your Sate Religion.

I feel like someone new playing this could get confused.
The list of concepts confusing to new players is really really long. That happens when we have so many new and unique features.

Also did that Venezia constantinople Historic Goal ever get debugged?
What was with the bug, what was happening?

This could be fixed with a separate entry in the civiliopedia with all the unique concepts for RFCE. We already have a minor version of this explaining some concepts.

-1 turn bug.
Norse appear 1 turn later.

3Miro already answered this a few posts above:

The Shrine of Uppsala have no cultural effect which seems to be "not coded yet". it means lost of programming?
The pagan shrine have no cultural effect after it is obsoleted. I do not know it is a mistake or designed to be, since the buidings can generate culture after obsoleted in BTS. If it is desighed to so, I think the pagan shrine is too useless because Monasticism is on the way of Herbal Medicine which is very important to provide 2 happy resource.

Actually the bonus for Shrine of Uppsala is already coded for the next version
IIRC pagan shrines only add bonus if you are under paganism civic, and it's intentional

In BTS, a building would not stop generating culture after it is obsoleted. But in RFCE, pagan shrines won't generate culture after it is obsoleted.

What's your point of saying it again?
I just said it's intentional

In this mod your non state religion buildings generate less culture than your state religion buildings
For pagan shrines there are other restrictions as well, mostly connected to the paganism civic

The non state religion buildings do not generate LESS culture, they generate NO culture.

I don't get it, you are here to argue?
It certainly doesn't seem you want to help with your feedback...

Anyway, you are wrong again:
Temples: 1 culture if it's your state religion's building, 0 if not
(Btw, it's the same for pagan shrine. You have pagan religion only if you are under paganism civic, thus you only get culture if you still have that civic)
Monateries: 2 culture for SR, 1 for not SR
Shrines: 4 culture for SR, 2 for not SR
You can only build your state religion's cathedrals

It's not perfect if you are in "free religion" (all cathedrals get their full culture boost, but from the other religious buildings only your state religion's buildings get their full culture), but otherwise it's a pretty good feautre in the mod IMO

No is less than some.

That's also true, thanks :)

Can it be that the +1 from Paganshrine obsoletes with Monastery even if you have no state religion?

I am not talk about the wonder, I just talk about the building pagan shrine. The shrine would not generate culture after it is obsoleted.
It is odd because in BTS a building can generate culture after obsoleted.

Yes.
This would not influence all civils because they can get religion easily except the Norse. It is obviously the Shrine of uppsala and the pagan shrine are designed for Norse, but they won't work. Pagan shrine would be obsoleted by the tech Monastery, and then the build won't generate any culture.

+1. Pagan Shrine culture bonus is lost with Monasticism regardless of the civics used.

I should probably tie this one to the Pagan civic.

I'm so confused.......
You mean +1 culture will be for ever in the next version?

Right now, you get +1 culture from Pagan Shrine until you discover Monasticism. Afterwards, you get no culture.

I can make it so that you can only build Pagan Shrines with Paganism Civic and you get +1 Culture only if you are running Paganism Civic. Then we can make the Shrines obsolete much later. This would help Lithuania as well.

My point is that being obsoleted should not remove the culture bonus.
Furthermore, I think all the desigh about Pagan let the wonder SoU and building PS be too useless to be built.

Since there is no defensive bonus from culture level of cities and borders skirmish is not a big thing in the very large and historical map, culture is only used to expand cities to 21 (or to achieve some UHV).
