RFC Europe: Small bugs/fixes

It wasnt helpful.
As we previously thought, problem was resolved only after renaming folders on the way to WBQuickSave.
But renaming caused instability of system :sad:

Sry to hear
It seems that unscheduled enter to the WB somehow fixes the wrong path in your save - but only on systems where it can get the correct path
So it won't work with your path with those russian characters :/

In my previous playtest I noticed a few small things:
- I didn't get my starting workers, when settled 1 tile NW of my initial starting position. I didn't find a solution for this in python, but maybe I just overlooked... 3Miro, can you check this?
- Orthodox Monastery build sounds doesn't work. Was this messed up recently? Or they never even had sounds? I'm not even sure anymore :crazyeye: Is this the same for all orthodox and catholic buildings?
- I don't get any messages when switching civics. It's not neccessarily an issue, I just wasn't sure: was this intentionally removed?

Did you get the -1 turn bug? If you don't have a city on the turn when the workers need to appear, then they don't appear.

I play with most of the sounds to off. I don't know what sound the Orthodox Missionaries have. Those were added long time ago so it would be either the same as Catholic ones or none at all
- I don't get any messages when switching civics. It's not neccessarily an issue, I just wasn't sure: was this intentionally removed?
What message did you not get? Like a popup or like a one line text?

Unfortunately I'm not sure. But I had my city up on my second turn
So even if there was the -1 turn autorun bug, I had my cities on the third turn

It was the building build sounds (Temple, Monastery, Cathedral)
I just noticed this, because when the religion spreads (automatically or by missionary), IIRC you get the Orthodox sounds
EDIT: This is the same for all 3 Christian religions. We have sounds when the religion spreads, but no sounds when a religious building is built

What message did you not get? Like a popup or like a one line text?

Oh, it was just the usual one line texts, which appear in BtS when you switch civics
No biggie, just noticed

Merijn, I have some XML errors on mod startup, which points to the new stability concept you uploaded recently
Probably there is a typo in one of the XML entries. Could you look into it?

Hey,
downloaded the modmod yesterday seems to be an awesome piece of work that is about to bring me back to Civ4. I do have a small bug with units 'jumping' between different graphic-models. For example Archers changing between 'classic' Civ4 Egyptmodel and the model they should have according to civ-pedia.
Seems to be the case for all units that should not use the 'classic' models. Known problem or did i broke it somehow? Anyway i can fix that?
Thx
Wuzzel

PS: Runing BTS 3.1.9.0 and RFC-Europe Beta 13 from this site. Never had that problem runing mods like the 'old' RFC or SOI.

Welcome to the forum! (and to RFCE of course) :D
Probably you messed up something in the mod path, I didn't hear about this graphic issue before
.../Your_CivIV_folder/Beyond the Sword/Mods/RFCEurope is where all the mod files should go

EDIT: Another possibility that pops in my mind is the modular loading
How is it set in your .ini file?

Thanks for the quick answer... mod-path is correct, deleted and downloaded it again with the same result.
RFCEurope looks like this:
Spoiler :

[CONFIG]

; Modular XML Loading
ModularLoading = 0

; Skip Main menu
SkipMainMenu = 0

; Custom Art from user folder is not loaded
NoCustomArt = 1

; Custom XML and Python from user folder are not loaded
NoCustomAssets = 1

; No Custom Scenario option in main menu
NoCustomScenario = 1

; No team play allowed
NoTeams = 0

; Read Game options from XML, not .ini
ForceGameOptions = 0

; Always start in the standard era
ForceStandardEra = 0

; Scenario file (Single player)
ForceScenario = 0

; This mod is only for single player games
SinglePlayerOnly = 1

; Allow public maps to be used with this mod
AllowPublicMaps = 0

; Mod Image file
ImageFile = 0

; Name of Mod
Name = RFCEurope

; Description of Mod
Description = Rhye's and Fall of Europe: 500-1800 AD

I don't think that RFCE++ adds any new music, so this might be RFCE related... But then again I was using custom folder for my music -- perhaps someone seen errors like this before and could comment?

Turn off frozen animation

So, did turning off frozen animations solved your issue?

i'm getting the same error as Venice in standard Beta13 so ...

So am I but I posted it in the RFCE++ thread.

So it's in RFCE
Strangely I never saw it before in my games
Can someone post a savegame?

Tried yesterday for an hour and it worked fine without any graphic bugs so far. Will go for a game with the Arabs and let u guys know if I encounter that bug again. Might take some days tho, pretty long hours till christmas.
Big thanks to the civ-king

ps: Interested in feedback from a ''rfce-noob'' on that and other historical victories or are you more or less clear about the unique victory conditions?

Please post your feedback. We don't mind if you are new to the mod.

If it worked for an hour then you are good to go
Glad to hear it was only a frozen animation setting

I've had it in RFCE++, but not in RFCE. Perhaps it was something that got fixed up to the current SVN?

Ran through the recent SVN changes again, but I don't think so
Probably this sound bug is still there
If anyone sees it again, please repost it with a save

no clue as to what causes it, but when ending the turn in 1544 the game usually crashes/freezes when the 'Counter Reformation' event pops
