In the playtesting-thread I brought up the idea of a wonder that gives GG-points for fighting barbarians.
However I now would rather see it as a UP for the Byzantines.
Alternatively it would be a nice feature of the Theodisian Wall (which can usually be controlled by Byzantium, Bulgaria, Venice, Genoa, the Ottomans). In this case I'd reduce its defense-bonus to 50% instead of the current 100%.
If you prefer a new wonder I'd recommend setting it at Engineering or something comparable. Unfortunately I don't have an idea for a name at the moment.
(But then I'd prefer the other 2 options outlined)
Byzantium usually stays quite stable untill very late in the game, with the UP-change the Ottomans might get a better start due if they manage to get Justinian to unstable.
--------------
The Florence Duomo:
According to Wikipedia a lot of new construction techniques were used to build it. Maybe it could give it's builder a production bonus for all religious buildings?
Or it could give culture and a free engineer specialist?
Tech-Prereq: It says that the plans for the Duomo date back as far as 1296 while it ways completed 1436. So how about stuffing it in there with Patronage?
--
Venetian Arsenal:
It could just give another 50% production bonus for maritime units + some exp. The Venetian UB could be a different Market to reflect their trading abilities.
OR it could be a modified harbor that gives + 2? health, as Venice has lots of experience of living basically in the water and dealing with the resulting health problems.
--
Kizil Kule:
I fail to see the importance of this monument, but defence bonus seems adequat. If it is possible to code: prohibits costal blockades by enemy ships.
--
Mont Saint-Michel:
Could also be used as a sort of "Oracle" by giving the builder 1-2 yet unresearched techs of an earlier age.
