Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

the installer asks for your CIv3 main folder, so in your case it is:

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III
Just did the uninstall and reinstalled it. Its now in
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III
Still no dice. Really wanting to play this. sounds great. Is it under a different name in the civ-content?

open your civilization III\conquests\scenarios folder
and tell me the content
has these folders:
rhyes of civ
rhyse of civ x
rhyse of civ xf

Has these BIQ files:
Rhye's of Civilization Expanded v1.23 RANDOM MAP.biq
Rhye's of Civilization Expanded v1.23.biq

I just uninstalled Civ III and reinstalled and reinstalled Rhyse. Still nothing. It did load all of the other mods like Tehran, Raan, etc.

So, they still show up in the diplomacy?
I really don't know...they could have a settler wandering around...I'll see when you send the files.

Just how will you see it from the file?
Can I just see it for myself (from the file)?
In the editor or something like that?

I have put much time into this - I don't want to see it go to waste...
and I am worried by this strangeness of the program - if it it so...

and hey, didn't someone else had the same problem - with Carthage?...

Rhye, cannot it be, that - by accident - you have set the game
at start so that killed civs "reappear"...?

Although Inca and Maya are still in the diplomacy
and I guess that is against this... :(

I desperately search for remnant units
(just to make things clear)
but in vain...
AI civs don't want to have to ally me to have war against them...

DAMN IT!!!

Both Incans and Mayans reappeared - in far North America...

Man, can it be that they both had a settler
saved and escaped to get there???
It can be, as in the meantime Russia got destroyed...

Boy, that I call NOT lucky...
I will play through, anyway, I will finish in about 1950 or so, I guess,
with culture victory...

But then I will give it another shot!

It is a fantastic game experience, this Dutch Chalange! :)

I am in 1896.

I need 4000 more culture for Amsterdam,
and those bastard English are taking all the new wonders...
It means I need more 60 or so turns...
That means around 2005 as finish... :)

My big aim is to get all the tobaccos from the Americas.

Does it mean the three Americas?
AND
Guess it simply means I have to have these tobaccos
in my land only,
no need to have roads to get them connected?
I hope so... :)

I made it all wrong,
beside the conquest fiasco,
I lost other points, too...
Eh, next time will make it!

Got it. Had it in wrong folder. Thanks for your help.

I had a similar situation to Soma. I destroyed whatI thought was the last Carthaginian settler back in about 1250, and when I destoyed that settler, 2 or 3 Cart units near it disappeared, so I thought I had destroyed the civ. But no message and it still showed up in diplomacy. Later I found a Carthaginian city in Malaysia. I was very surprised that they could have got there.

However, when I eliminated the Zulus around 1700, I think I got the message.

So, was the AI really respawning?

This has to be clarified:
You just need them to be in your terrirory, or in a colony.
When you have got a monopoly, you can choose to sell it or not, at the cost you like, after all ;)
Instead, in order to obtain the general bonus of luxuries and strategic resources you need them connected to your capital

Man, if so, what is the rule for respawning?
Is it happening one time for a civ?
And when?

I mean, I destroy the Incas in 1700 and they respawn in 1820,
then how I do suppose to have them done in 1800?

Rhye said:
but I don't think so, because you've never seen them disappearing in 1700 and respawning in 1820. They've always been there. I think that it's just an escaped settler

OK, Rhye, I just hope they were escaped settlers...
We'll see, I will give it a new run from the very beginning... :)

Based on this altogether - I am afraid it is and was RESPAWNING.

Shouldn't we have a new sav-file to begin with?

I think a new sav file should be released.. Destroying carthage before 1300 is impossible with respawn AI. Or maybe just cahnge the eobjective from elimination to exile.

It's too late for a new save now, and it wouldn't be fair.

Keep playing normally, then when i'll gather the saves I'll see what I can do.
If somebody has succeeded in destroying AIs, ok. Instead if nobody succeeded, I'll consider just the elimination from the home land.
