Rik tries 2 out of 3 - Deity Large map, 32 civs

So that's how it's done. Bra-freakin'-vo!

I notice that many smaller and slacking civs currently have some big bucks. Probably a rich civ (Babylon) bought them into an alliance. I want that money!
I sell Fascism for 1131 gold to Egypt; for 700 gold to Spain, and Metallurgy for 900 gold to China.

What is happening here ??

The Egyptians aren't even near Arabia. Also visible is Persia, reduced to 1 city. On the north-west tip of my continent. They are destroyed the next turn by the Celts.

1350 AD: I demand Iroquois forces out of my land. They obey - ** Sigh **
I plant a spy and fail - no war - ** Sigh **
I declare on the Iroquois.

In the first turn:

Map of the 5 remaining Iroquois cities.

Plan is to capture the southern cities and to raze the northern cities. Simply to not divert my forces and to keep my border small.

The next turn the troops heal and 2 turns later they go again.

And the next turn:

This is the plan for the northern Iroquois. If I go through their lands; It'll take me 2 turns to get to the mountain and more to finally destroy them. If I have Right of Passage with the Portuguese I get on the mountain this turn. So I build an embassy, sign RoP and move my cavalry to the mountains to strike the last 2 Iro cities next turn.

How little do I know ....

Literally the IBT after I positioned my troops I get this unbelievable message. The Iro's are true Houdini's; escaping from certain death by a miracle.

Yes; The Iroquois destroyed the Dutch. :crazyeye:
And where is that ???

Here:

This is not fun as this means the Iro's are around for more turns, continuing my war weariness. And the same turn I learn Motorised Transportation, so I'll have tanks shortly.

Anyway; let's not have this stop the original plan.

And now the Houdini - Iroquois. I have to get to them as quickly as possible to destroy them. Cavs are send in large stacks, after I sign RoP's.

And 10 years after the NorthWest Iroquois are destroyed; the Houdini-Iroquois are destroyed. I raze the city as to not keep a weak point behind the lines.

And remember the Arabia destroying Egyptians??? They must have a lot of troops up north as they also destroy the Inca; who are the southern neighbour of Germany and just north of former-Arabia. The Inca were strong once.

Good lord the East is a mess.

Could we have a screenie/screenies with the foreign advisor showing who's at war with who?

Not really - there are way too many civs still alive to show them all. If you list the civs you want to see I can make that screenshot.

I'm planning on destroying Egypt, the Hittites and the Carthaginians (My south) and then spend some turns building up. I hope the rest of the civs settle down a bit.

Nice update.

Can you show a before and after empire screenshot of the soon-to-be-dead Carthagians and Hitties?:D

How about

Celts, Babs, Egypt, Germany (Is that Germany I see up northeast?), China.

Be advised that this is a screenshot of 1415AD, while the previous update ended in 1380 AD. It contains spoiler information. I will update the missing history later.

Spoiler :
2006329175913_War 1415 AD.JPG

I'm now building up for my next war. The "XXX signed a MA with YYY against ZZZ", the "XXX have made peace with the YYY" message s continue flying around.

As well as this one:

I decide to pick on Egypt. They have no troops in my land, so no demanding. Instead I try a spy-plant attempt. Succes !! :( - I wanted it to fail.

This are our armies:

2 cities fall immediately

And in the IBT - at the discovery of Flight - the Sumerian enter the Modern Ages and learn Ecology for free. The 1405 AD turn sees the first deployment of tanks and the inevitable capture of Elephantine.

After a turn of rest (Yes the Egyptians play hard to get) I take Memphis - the last Egyptian city in my south. (And I complete Iron Works).

Niagara falls was a tiny Iroquois town in my core. Since it liberation it has access to all 20 tiles and I added some workers to it. It's getting improved and it will soon get some real nice number of SPT.

See where the last Egyptian city is? I send out some stacks of cavalry to take care of them, but I of course need RoP's. This is in 1415 AD.

The cav-task force have some trouble getting to the Egyptian lands due to units blockading them. And I don't make it. At least not in time.

Oh well, back to research. Notice my gold, gpt and research rate. It's only 90% (instead of 100%) as my top city Niagara Falls needs a happyness-giving building and then I can put the research %-age to 100.
So it doesn't last long before I discover Computers - in 1450 AD. I start researching 1 turn on Rocketry. On 100%. It turns out Babylon gets Rocketry as their free tech. Time to trade.

This are the lands of Hitites and Carthage.

Carthage has some cities further away. Here they are.

Fortunately do I still have a Cav stack in the East from my failed campaign against the Egyptians. They might get in handy after all. Or not ...

Immediately after taking the previous screenshot I get the message that the Romans are destroyed by the Zulu. 1 more down, 1 less to go.

Remember Niagara Falls ??
Well look again.

50% more research, nearly 30% more shields. I am happy.

It's time to start another war. Hittities need to die. But not immediately. My Spy attempt fails, but no war. Spy attempts succeed with the Portuguese, Germans, Chinese and French. 15 other attempts fail.

I notice the Germans are dying quickly and I also notice why. No techs for their Panzers and to resources. I gift them all the way up to Motorized transportation + I gift them Oil and also 2000 gold for rushing. The longer they can remain a power, the longer the Babylonians are wasting units on them.

I spend a little pocketmoney.

And I earn a little pocketmoney.

The Mongols make no more money. The Koreans have destroyed them. It's 1495 AD. The Aztecs destroy the French. It's 1500 AD. I learn Synthetic Fibres. It's 1500 AD. I finish SETI. It's 1500 AD.

I have a mountain of tanks that I can upgrade to Modern Armors, but I decide to only upgrade a few.

Why ???

Well, Hattusas - reachable with modern armor, has Leonardo's and that'll give me a discount on the other upgrades. Yes, I am cheap ...

I manage to plant a spy with the Hittites. That means a peak at their forces - just before the attack.

135 Infs is quiet something. And I need to deploy my eastern task force as well. The Hittites captuerd a German city ....

Well, here we go.

And:

Nothing to report; the 20 modern armors were not enough to capture Hattusas. So I upgrade a Stack of 50+ tanks to Modern armor without Leo's. The next stack of 50 will -hopefully- be upgraded with Leo's help.

The Hittites move in their Infantry against my cities. So I form a Mech Inf army on my besieged city.

I have saved up armies and they are filled now, with the 50 modern armors I upgraded last turn. They do their work.

And Canterbury falls as well, as expected.

I end my turn with a little investment.

Next turn: 2 cities taken.

And then something I've never ever done before. It is so unusual I'll put it in spoiler tags.

Spoiler :
I disband a Military Great Leader !!!!
Why ???? Because there is no Sumerian city in that area and there is 0 chance he'll make it home alive. As long as he stays alive I cannot get another MGL.

So I disband Lugalbanda (Lugaldisbanda ??? )

And I am correct in doing that, as the next attack gets me another MGL:

:crazyeye:

In 1520 AD The Hittites are removed from my south. Their are only 2 remaining Hittite cities, the one is immediately north of my border and the other is the former German city.

In order to get quickly to that last Hittite city I need to go through China, Zululand, Babylon and the Maya. And I need to go that way because of the Hittite city. As taking the Hittite city will get my border bumped; I decide to conquer the Maya as well.

I can only take Bonampak and not Yaxchilan. Too few forces. I'll do that next turn.

This turn I investigate the last Hittite city.

It's takeable.
The next turn I destroy the Maya by taking their last city.

I don't !??1?!!!!!?!?!?!

They have a settler somewhere. See; I can't plant a spy as they have no city. Weird hey ??

The search for the last of the Maya has started.

Bad news ...

I destroyed the Hittites, then the Maya. Korea destroyed the Russians, the Babylonians destroyed the Germans. I then declared war on the Carthaginians and destroyed them the same turn. Since they had a MPP with Babylon I got into a war with them and since they had a MPP with Korea I am in war with them as well.

And now, while checking the game to play on - All recent saves have disappeared.

So I'll just claim this game as a victory, post the final screens and move on.

Sorry about that.

If you are looking for me; I'm in a corner - crying.
