Ring of Warding Useful?

Does RoW protect against fireballs as well? Might be useful for the Archmage rush Ecofarm was remarking about in the other thread in that case.

One of the reasons why I don't like the ring of warding is that it is ugly. sometimes it prefers circle around random houses instead of your wonders or units. Would it be possible to tie it to the same code as arcologies in the nextwar mod that makes it scale to the size of the city?

perhaps it could also protect from armageddon effects
(steal units, blight)
