Risk Nes 1

dam it. you're right. you do get reinforcements before the first attack round. that's just wierd. we just did what i would have called a reinforcement phase, and it throws another one.

dam it. so its 3 more armies each. wish i'd gone this far in the process before so i could have just told you all to do 17 each from the start. oh well, guess its another phase with another update. so 3 more armies each.

remember, you cant put all 3 into a territory unless it has atleast 2 of your other territores adjacent to it. its 1+number or adjacent territoreies for max reinforcements into one territory.

Nice to see your troops but I hope they... leave. ;)

Orders
-----------
2 troops in western Australia and because of the unusual but sensible rule I put the last one in New Guinea

thankee ;)
c'yaz all :)

Maybe the game wants to give everyone some warning around so the last 3 reinf. may correct some mistakes. :)

Leeet's roooolll...

i've now actualy played a whole game of same time risk against the computer, so i have a bit more knowledge of its patern of the turns, so these surprises shouldnt happen any more.
anyway have 3 PMs with orders now. so a few more and we can actualy get to the real attacking phase.

have 5 orders. still need gelion's and toteone's.
one of them gave enough info in his original orders for me to do this phase based on a good guess.
the other one i gotta wait for. so both of you send em asap. only NEED to know where to put the 3 reinforcement armies.

ok, have all 7 orders now, but wont be able to do the update till lunch time (a bit busy today at work), so it should be about about 2 hours (with change maybe) from the time of this post.

crap. cant execute galeons orders for the reinforcements. not sure what he'd want to actualy do. sent him a PM, but i dont actualy think he's online now.
not sure what to do. may have to just place them for him, but i'd hate to do that.

well, after deciding what i would do in Gelion's place, i asked another Risk player, and he suggested same thing. so i went with it. Gelion i'm sorry that it worked this way, but i couldnt leave Risk running on this computer for a whole day, and i cant save in the middle of the reinforcement phase (its surprising how few places you can save these games in).

anyway. here's the new map. the places that got reinforcements are slightly highlighted.
i now need your attack orders.
this is not classic risk, so there's no attacking with 3 armies, seeing how it goes then attacking again with another 3 and so on.
you specify how many armies from which region you want to attack which region (neighboring one) and that's it. you can do as many of these attacks as you want. so like jason for example could attack all 4 regions neighboring Alberta with his forces from there, but he has to decide how many go which way (atleast 1 has to stay, then he could lets say send 3 armies attack each of wester us, ontoario and northwest territory). at the same time he could have his armies in britain attack some of its neighbors (or one of its neighbors).
an army ordered to attack will not defend the region it left (except if the attacker is coming from the region it is attacking, then they meet on the border and fight it out and only one continues to do his actual attack with whatever is left of his attacking forces)

if a region is attacked by two other regions (doesnt matter if the attackers are the same player or not) then the defender fights against both attackers as if the attackers were allied. then after the defender is dead, the attackers figure out who gets the territory (by fighting if its different players, by combining if its same player).

Every turn, you are allowed ONE "surge attack" which means that you can order your armies to attack out of territory they are going to take this turn.
so if i use jason as example again, he could order 11 armies from alberta to attack westernn US, and then (since he can be prety sure he'll win there ;) )order some of those armies to "keep attacking" into central america or into ontario or any other region bordering western US.

remember, you HAVE TO LEAVE ATLEAST ONE ARMY in any region from which your forces are attacking.

here's the map.

yes. after all the attacks there's the old "free move" phase. as far as i can tell it is also restricted by the "reinforcement limit" rules. so if you have 100 armies in a back end region, you're basicaly out of luck trying to move it. it'll move like 4-or-some-such-non-sense at a time.
so try to get your armies moved to the "front lines" by attacking.

also. i'm hoping to be able to enforce a time limit for that phase. so after the attack update you have lets say 24 hours to send your "free move" orders, or you dont get any at all. that particular phase of the turn is often not used at all, and i dont want ot hold up the game just casue someone forgot to say that they dont need to move anything.

oh. for orders, to make it a bit easier on me, if you can organize them as something like:
5 armies from Ukraine to afganistan
4 armies from japan to kamchatka
......

and list the surge attack (the one that "goes on after the attack") seperately cause that one will confuse me otherwise (when you attack from a territory you dont own i might get confused as to which player you are.
oh, and if you attack one territory from multiple ones, then want ot surge from the one you "superattacked" then you can use all the armies that go in there, not just one of the forces going in.

Okay next time I will do better with orders....
