NOTE: This is the opinion of Justin Somnios. It does not reflect the opinions or beliefs of the Civilization Fanatics Center.
So before I start, let me tell you how i like to play. I'm a Machiavellian player. I weave webs of alliances and embargoes and prepare a large military, always state of the art, for war. I try to create world unity by creating a scapegoat and common enemy for all the other civilizations, then capitulate the scapegoat and take all resources and any other possibility of breaking free. I repeat this cycle over and over with organized and coordinated attacks with vassals (It's like NATO). Wars are usually blitzkriegs and I never keep the cities unless I need to. Conquered cities go to my vassals, keeping the percentages in check though. By the time the AP and the UN are created, I have considerable control over elections. The vassals can hate me and curse me all they want, but they must obey me. In all, I unite the world by any means necessary.

THE LEADERS OF DOOM
Montezuma:Ringleader
My archenemy, the root of all civ evils. He's annoying as hell. In my recent games, he's a powerhouse in the ancient and medieval eras and a bully. He keeps declaring war on me and my allies when I get other civs to declare war on him, he devours their territory. Every turn has a message saying the Monty took yet another city. Monty is always out in the market for allies against me, which is a pain when he gets my neighbor to fight me, so I end up fighting two fronts. Luckily for me, Monty seems to miss on long-term development, and becomes primitive and backwards and easy prey with the advent of Infantry. He's like a childhood bully who after puberty, he's a shrimp compared to you. In the end, he's my vassal.

Wilem:The Culture Leader
Wilem is just plain annoying and stubborn. He trades with everyone and rarely does any war. He's always up to date in technology and has a tough defense. But he refuses to embargo with anyone and it's very annoying. His territory is huge and loaded with culture. I hate him, he's never on anyone's side and he's always causing a culture panic. Most of the time, he's got such a large army that I can't afford a regular war with him, so I have to focus much espionage on him to gain intel on him. I have to know where his units are, what they are, how many there are, etc. and I have to carefully plan the invasion to get his culture hulks the best possible way.

Stalin:Soviet Man of Steel
This guy continues where Monty left off. He's a pushover in the early game, but when he has the technology of the Cold War era, beware. If he has Uranium, don't take him lightly. Like the Soviet doctrine, he's fast at war. And he's not afraid to nuke (neither am I. Screw the environment). He's a pain, and he's fed up being pushed around. I usually have to work in order to defeat him, and avoid the SoD in case of nukes.

Asoka:Traitor
Asoka is a necessary evil. He seems to spawn right next to me in games which is very annoying. He plays the role of a pacifist, but is anything but. Early on, he usually offers himself as a vassal, which I appreciate: he's a competent general, and it saves me the military manpower to my goal. Usually I decide to have him as a vassal as a buffer state against my enemies. I give him my nearby conquests unless I want them just because I can depend on him to play his part as a buffer state. So why is he here, and why is he labeled as a traitor? He stabs you in the back via culture, but not as bad as wilem. Not only that, he loves to sabotage your stuff, which is why everyone picks on him and which is why he goes to me for protection. I just spy on him and counter his espionage and make sure his culture is in check, which can be really hard to do if it's deep in his territory. Oh yeah, he, like Stalin, loves the nuke, and very often when we are at war with Stalin do I expect a lot of screen shaking.

INDEPENDENT ROGUES
These are just some other leaders I don't like, but are really easy to deal with
Tokugawa
This guy is like the guy who tries to act tough by beating on his chest and talking smack, but is a wimp. Why? Well, you must not play civ very much because you don't know how much Tokugawa ignores science. The only time I have to fear him is when he is a modern colony. Then, he can be trouble with his free promotions.
Ragnar
Ragnar is nothing more than Monty's sidekick. Every time there is a game with both Ragnar and Monty, Ragnar is Monty's vassal. Like Monty, he lags behind in technology. When he isn't Monty's vassal, he very annoying demanding that I don't trade with anyone and declare war on everyone.
Isabella
Good lord I hate it when she is a different religion than I am, and she lets it be known. Even worse is when she's right next to me with a different religion. Because everyone know how zealous the Buddhist Spanish are with their Buddhist Inquisition (which nobody expects!). She is just plain annoying when she's a non-believer.
